Loved the first one and seems like the second one is going to be just as good.

definitely. I have the first one on the Xbox, but will be getting this one for the PS3.

I may be a little late in getting this though; A LOT of good games coming out. Currently I'm playing God of War Collection (only on the first one now).

Interesting. I would get it if I still had my 360.

the GoW collection came bundled with my PS3...I finally playing it a few days ago. I beat them both as of last night.

As addicting as the game is...its infuriating as well. no control over the camera, badly laid out controls. The PS3 controller blows compared to the Xbox.

When I get bioshock 2, because I am HUGE fan of the first one. I will still with the Xbox.

I'm gonna pick it up. Unfortunately I won't be playing it for a couple weeks though. Mass Effect 2 must be completed first.

I actually did a search too and nothing came up. My bad...

Bioshock, Gears of War, Darksiders, Arkham Asylum and Little Big Planet are the games I get way too excited for that sometime I get carried away...(Apparently)

Okay okay...here's a guy who does NOT enjoy FPS on consoles. Yeah, I said it...

FPS on PC is great...console...not so much. For instance, I tried out CoD, big meh for me. BUT, I do make exceptions. Should this game be one of them...? The atmosphere and trailer look amazing. So, I'd like to hear the Bioshock vets and see what they recommend for a non-FPS-for-console guy...

Another exception I think should be for the upcoming AvP game.

FPS on PC. No substitute. I feel the same, I bought Resistance for PS3 and while the game itself is so bomb; I hated doing FPS on consoles.

Yum, I used to be a big CS fan on PC, and I was also a bit skeptical about the control of FPS on console when I first started. However, after playing Halo and other console FPS games, I feel that, if control and gameplay are the things you are worried about, you shouldn't have much of a problem with it. From personal experience, I have never felt that the controller has hindered me from doing what I want to do in a well-rounded console FPS like Bioshock.

I know you are an Arkham Asylum fan, and in some ways, I believe the Bioshock series deliver the type of atmosphere that is very similar to AS. Reason being, it's a dark and story-driven game. Now, I am not sure if you had the chance to play the first Bioshock, and being that the story of 2 is somewhat connected to the first, you may want to play that one first. It's only $20 right now, and it's worth the $.

Last thing, I wouldn't consider myself a FPS fanatic though most of my games are FPS, but the things I look for in a game is one that has a good story...something that would keep me interested as I progress through the game. So, if you are the same way as well, I think you will enjoy Bioshock.
------------------

Oh yeah, I won't get to take my trip to Rapture till this Sunday being that this is what I will be getting as Vday present. Would love to hear first impression of the sequel from some of you guys though.

I'm currently at the end of Resistance 1, and though I think it's a decent game, I think Nathan Hale is one of the least charismatic hero I have ever come across. The dude looks like a skinhead and barely speaks. Hopefully, he has more of a personality on Resistance 2.

They did really well with the Big Sisters, I thought. They really set the shit-your-pants mood when they scream before pouncing on you.

I cracked open the case a bit this weekend. I was just too curious not to play it!

It seems really good from what I've played so far. It seems slightly more linear that the first though. Mostly with the addition of the prompt stating you cannot return back to certain areas after completion. Not being able to return to previous areas makes it feel almost like I'm being boxed into small areas of rapture. A shame seeing as how the city is the star of the show.

Graphics are great and the atmosphere is thick. I'm having fun finding more about Andrew Ryan. He is obviously based off of Ayn Rand. Interesting to see how people react to him, and it possibly shows how the game makers feels about Ayn Rand's philosophy. (or it's just me looking to far into it because I'm currently reading a book by Ayn Rand)

I feel there isn't as much older music in this one though. The classical music is one of the main elements of the Bioshock atmosphere in the first, I was hoping they would have more playing in the sequel. They also reuse some songs from the first game in the second. I'm having a very hard time gathering money as well (I assume it is because I'm at the beginning still). It gets very frustrating to constantly run out of ammo, especially when you in the middle of a fire fight.

I'm just being nit-picky though. So far it seems wonderful and I'm having a hard time choosing what to play in my free time. (either Bioshock 2 or Mass Effect 2)

I picked this up yesterday. Traded in a ton of old games...ended up with 190 in credit

Anyway, I'm into it...but its not nearly as amazing as playing the original for the first time. The original was an amazing experience, and the sequel feels like I just picked up the same game in a different time line.

Dont get me wrong, its a great game, but there is nothing new or exciting to it. I'm not savoring it as I did the original because its all the same spiel.

I got lucky and found a used copy, Hopefully I'll beat in the 7 day time limit and get my money back when I'm done I like having all the credit.

Great game, but has that "been there done that" feel that most sequels have.

I'm through the first 4 stages but after finishing Uncharted 2, BS2 feels somewhat like a letdown. Christ, the drill sucks gas more than a Hummer! I hate constantly running out of ammo, and the Hack gun becomes gayer and gayer the more I use it. I do like turning the cameras into friendlys which is kind of cool. With all the Splicers bumrushing me, the fighting and controls feels somwhat chaotic. I've been going slow and not jumping into a fight all commando and it seems to be working better.

I like the arrow at the top and the hint function.

I never played the original, so the aquatic denizen of Rapture still is compelling.

Beat it last night, so I'm within my 7 day period. Returning it today. Gotta love used games from gamestop.

It was fun. The story is tight. But there was nothing new, nothing to cause awe like the first game.

If/when they make a 3rd one, they better do something totally new and exciting or I'll most likely pass on it.

Buy Bioshock 2 and get the original Bioshock free

Not sure what happened to the other Bioshock thread, but here goes:

Amazon currently has a deal in which if you buy Bioshock 2 for either the PS3 or XBOX, you get the original Bioshock free. They also lowered the price.

I already had the original Bioshock for the XBOX, but since I'm buying PS3 games now, I took advantage of this deal for the PS3 version. I also had a $10 promotion from getting God of War 3, so I got both games for $38.99 + Free shipping with Amazon Prime.

I was up in the air of whether I should get this game, but this deal convinced me otherwise.

I'm guessing Amazon isn't the only place that has this deal, since they tend to match offers from other retailers, but a good deal nonetheless.

If interested, then I suggest you take advantage of it soon because Amazon is notorious for pulling deals without warning.

http://www.amazon.com/Bioshock-2-Pla...0299761&sr=8-2

http://www.amazon.com/Bioshock-2-Xbo...0300480&sr=1-1

Add both games to your cart to get the deal.
