360, PS3: Need for Speed - Shift
It hasn't even been 2 weeks.
I wonder if I could get my $20 back.I installed the game on my harddrive and it made ZERO difference in the load times. They are painfully slow. There are honestly times that I contemplate turning the game off because it takes so long to load. It completely ruins the flow of the game.
That being said, a works GT-R and a works Murcielago are a blast to drive. Rockets that can turn on a dime.
I found that Shift (PC) is one of the least enjoyable driving games that I've played in a while. It is an improvement for the NFS franchise, but the incessant tire squealing and console-like interface combined with terrible multi-player will drive me back to games like Grid and Forza very quickly.

the Zonda F is great.... now that's rocket and turns...
this makes me angry...
it' an ok game. it isn't refined and i find glitchs all through the game. such as the 1vs1 competitions the cars won't go anywhere. and also on replay's sometimes hoods won't be there.
what i hate is the smashing and a little nudge sends u flying. and how the cars seem to become very unstable at one little bump. it's like the car keeps jumping. that is very annoying.

There's a glitch where the cars in the PC version make zero power at higher rpm's. I have to shift at 1k less than redline otherwise it doesn't accelerate. Shit, I was shifting an S2k at 5000 rpm because it doesn't even make it past 2nd gear if I don't.
my mercielago is slow as shit....and i didn't even change any settings...and i'm top of that i tried messing with the settings and it's still slow. it doesn't want to go over 145.... my vette pulls harder than it and handles just as well. and yes the merci is worked. this is pissing me off....

My murc is 20.99....higher than the Zonda R, and it's a Tier 3 car. I looked in Tier 3 , but couldn't find the Murcielago. The only Lambo there was the Gallardo. I don't know how I was able to get the Murc. There is a Revention in the Tier4 cars (super cars), but that one is not upgradeable.

i know but like i said i can't get the thing to break 140-150 if i'm lucky and to get it there after 120 takes forever. the zonda screams to 180. and i have tried everything, gearing, down force everything! idk it's like the merci hits a brick wall for me, it's just weird.
I picked this up last night, and I agree with jjaber. I kept telling myself I was going to go to bed after the next race, and before I knew it it was late. The last race I did was the M3 vs the RS4. I chose the M3, and like jjaber said, it's not easy. If you spin out once, you need to restart. I could never get more than 2 seconds ahead. He was always right on my ass ready to take advantage of any mistake I made.
So far so good.
One thing I dislike, however, is that you can buy cars with Microsoft points. To me, that takes the fun out of earning the cars. Now every little shitbag online will have a Zonda R.
Can't say much about the online play, because I didn't try it.
jjaber- what car did you start with? I started with the s2000.

I bought a 240SX, then a Cayman-S for teir 2, then a GT2 for tier 3, traded it for a Murc and did the works package. I'm pretty sure the Work'd LP640 is one of the best cars in the game (excluding the Pagani Zonda R the Mas) The AWD realllyyyyyy helps out. Just don't use it for any track that has a long stretch

Anyway, PM me and I'll give you guys the codes.
once u buy the car it's gone from the list to purchase.

I get up to 170-180 all the time. I haven't changed any of the settings.Ya, I just realized that the car disappears after you buy it..... that would explain why none of my cars are on the list.

The works GTR, OTOH, never goes past 150.
On the complete off chance any of you happen to be playing this on the PC, there's a "Real Mod" out there that supposedly goes a long way toward making NFSS a much more sim-like experience and less of an arcade racer.

BTW, I'm assuming mods like this only work on the PC version but I honestly don't know.

To be honest, I bought the game and while I haven't play very much (up to tier2 man. races) I find the game lacks in the realism aspect of driving. The cars are very twitchy, it goes from take a corner smoothly to violent oversteer instantaneous in the middle of the corner. In the RS4 vs M3 I find the RS4 to plow through corners and in order to avoid that you need to slow down to much for a corner. It may however be I am not used to the steering/game yet, but usually I can adapt very quickly.
Its a fun game, but I believe the realism could be better, if I were to rate the game I would give it a 8.0. I should have gotten it for the PC but my laptop would most likely not handle the graphics very well.

I forgot I could do that. Although, the last game I did it with (COD WaW) it didn't seem to make much difference.

fun game!
