Just played it for the first time (my brother has had it pre ordered for a long time now) and it's fucking fun. I've only played for about an hour or so, but it's great.

I don't know if any of you have been following it, but I'll try to give you a brief overview in a few days after I've played it a bit.

this game is fucking awesome. i was never a big fan of halo, so i would say this kicks the hell out of it. however, without using xbox live or lan, the multiplayer is only 2 players as far as i can figure out

 

I wouldn't even compare it to Halo because the two games are very different. Gears of War is a lot more about taking cover/strategy.

I just got done playing on Live a bit which was fun as hell.

The one thing I don't like so far is the damn chainsaw. If someone gets in your face and chainsaws you - dead. You'd think you could at least backstep a bit as they swung that shit out you.

 

co-op is up to 2 players
multiplayer is up to 8 players

I'm loving it so far. Played a bit of single player and a bunch of MP. The graphics are amazing and the game is really intense online. I was part of a first to reach 5 wins team match going and it we ended up winning 5-4 matches.

why does local MP say one on one? hooked up another controller and it said more than 2 people can not be signed in for this mode...

I know on xbox live you can do more, but i am talking about just you and 1 console

Yes.. 2-player online co-op or 2 players split screen co-op on the same console

YEAH, there are some that have it. Remember DEALogan from Halo, he has it. Its on his recent games played.

I am getting Call Of Duty 3 today at noon. I am going to play it and see if it hooks like part 2 did, then I wont waste money on GOW.

But GOW looks sooooo tempting. Just dont want to spend 130.00.

 

I havent been so damn antsy to get home and play a game since Grade school. Gears of War has made me antsy again.

That is where I got my copy last night.

I went to Target and WalMart and both hadn't received their shipment and said hopefully by tomorrow. So I went to GameCrazy and stood in line for about 10 minutes and walked out with a copy. The manager said they sent someone to the airport to pick up their shipment.

I only played about an hour last night, but very impressed 9/10

The only complaint I have so far is there are some lame blood effects.

 

fucking GameStop said they had them and when I got there, they said, naw we don't have them... bastards

 

I hate Gamestop...Best Buy is your friend...about 20 on the shelf at my local Best Buy.

 

game is amazing....

 

so far not loving this game. graphics are great, blood effects are lame, there doesn't seem to be too much rhyme or reason as to who dies when & why...

overall... it's very Halo'ish.

good game, not all its cracked up to be though. nonetheless, a fun multiplayer shit talker.

 

The multiplayer on this game is fantastic. Im going to get Xbox live, we should set up some games...anyone else think the chainsaw fucking rocks?!

 

^ Get used to it... that's kind of been my experience with almost all of the 360 games so far (looks pretty but gameplay leaves a lot to be desired)...
