360: Forza 4

I've got spurs...
Not sure if it was already mentioned, but the Warthog is non-drivable as it was deemed "uncompetitive". I feel that is sort of a lame reason to give, as there are a lot of slower cars/suv's in the game that aren't competitive. Not a big deal, it would have been a cool little bit to drive one but it certainly isn't a deal breaker.

Yeah I figured it wouldn't be drivable. I think it would be cool to drive it in "Free Play" mode but not in career.

Well...im pretty bummed.
No night - confirmed.
No weather - confirmed.
Only 90 new cars.
Only 25 in Autovista.
Different times of day only on specific tracks.
Therefore....there is nothing I really look forward to in FM4. I'll probably buy it, but man...they are missing the point on this one. People want night/rain on the tracks. People want the experience of racing in all sorts of conditions.
Why was PGR able to do this more than 5 years ago and still look brilliant doing it. Hell,
I'd take 350 bad ass cars along with all the major tracks (screw the fantasy crap) with blow me away graphics and details. Maybe GT5 is for me..lol.

Yeah it's sort of a let down but hey, it's something to hold us over until FM5, which I'm praying those elements will be added.

Those elements are what make the "grinding" not so bad.
I have nightmares about Maple Valley, nightmares. I could draw that track...with my foot. The freakishly red trees, the sun always in the same spot.
For a game whos primary objective is to race a small number of tracks 1,000 times...there needs to be some variety. Hate to be a broken record, but Shift does this brilliantly. You can race during the day 4 times in a row, and 3 out of 4 of those times you'll have an overcast day, or a clear day, or a partly cloudy day. Not to mention you can also race in the afternoon (with the same effects) or at night.
It just makes it a little more exciting, not knowing what you'll be racing in.

I totally understand what you're saying. I've felt that way about all 3 Forza games. I'll be doing a set of races and keep saying, "damn this track again?".
You would think that they would spend more time on adding large elements to the game like weather and night racing than developing a Warthog

There are too many elements that could have been added later or not at all. I could do without photomode, autovista and 60fps. They are so Nazi'd about 60fps that they've opted to not put in features that other games have already had in.
Typical boring 'ol Forza though. They really need something that would make people have to have the game. Seems the only thing they've improved thats worth saying anything over is their graphics, which is a given for any sequel.

Autovista is awesome! I'm looking forward to checking that out BUT it's nothing that will enhance the actual races.

I've just read in the same "Under The Hood" article that New York, the long version (AKA the best version) of Amalfi Coast, and the Bugatti Circuit (@ LeMans) was cut to add Hockenhiem and The Alps track.

Wtf. I loved the Bugatti Circuit.

I liked all three of them.
I hate the short Amalfi. I thought the New York track was very believeable, and fast. I like fantasy tracks that are somewhat believeable. PGR did awesome at this with Las Vegas, London, New York, Macau etc.
They make Forza's New York almost laughable...hard to believe this was released in 2007.

Here's what it imports.
You will have these cars depending on your driver level.
These will be imported from your garage.
That last list is kinda...well, dumb. The Camaro SS Coupe, RX7 Spirit R & Impreza S204 are easter egg cars, so you probably don't have them & the LFA is only on the newest limited edition, which you probably don't have either.

Yeah I feel the same way. I think they are just putting something out just to have it out. I'm hoping they get their shit together and offer weather/night racing in FM5.

"Season Pass" announced...
"The biggest news is the announcement of the Forza 4 Season Pass. Priced at 2400 Microsoft Points ($30), the Pass will be downloadable on the Xbox Live Marketplace or available from retailers on October 11 (the same day Forza 4 ships to stores). Players purchasing a Pass will gain access to six downloadable content packs (containing 60 cars) that’ll be released between November 2011 and April 2012. Purchased individually, the packs will cost 3600 Microsoft Points ($45), so the Pass works out to a 30% discount.
Pass purchasers will also receive a bonus car pack after the game launches. “The American Muscle Car Pack” will feature ten classic cars including the 1965 Pontiac GTO, 1968 Pontiac Firebird and the 1968 Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock."
Indianapolis Motor Speedway...
Also, a FM4 demo will be available for XBL Gold Members starting on October 3. It will be available for all other members on October 7.

Interesting I guess.
The community made up quite a few games in f2 that were added into matchmaking in f3. So I don't mind that stuff being in there, especially if they let you mess with the rules allot like in f3.
If I come across that in the single player race portion of the day I will flip off the xbox as hard as I possibly can.

Yeah I went ahead and pre-ordered FM4 yesterday through Best Buy. I was going to do it through Game Stop but I was already at Best Buy getting something else

You can reply without quoting every picture you know...
Pictures look amazing by the way.
And did I just dream it up or is there another wheel going to be available for like $90? I know fanatec is coming out with another one but I imagine it will be several hundred dollars again.
