Looks cool but I'm not a fan of the Kinect stuff, I prefer a controller. Also I don't like how there are points for passing people and such like the XP used to be in Project Gotham.
All they need to do on top of FM3 is add more tracks, more cars, weather and night racing, and be able to open the doors and such but WITHOUT Kinect. I hope it's able to be done with a controller as well.

I don't know...the Kinect thing is a little quirky...but I think I could find myself liking it.
I'd have to try it in store or similar before I'd one a buy a Kinect for it....but I like the idea that you can do that.
The biggest problem I run into when using a controller is when there are long consistent turns, and it's hard to get the joystick in the perfect sweet spot or difficult to make just tiny adjustments during long turns. Seems like something that could be more manageable with the Kinect. I would have to try it out though.

^You're right about the sweet spot of the controller, I agree with that. I find myself constantly tapping left or right instead of being able to hold it.
I just don't like the idea of not having a controller whatsoever for stuff. What happens if I'm racing with Kinect and my girlfriend waves her hand in front of me or something? I'm sure it's just something that will take getting used to, and it's a great feature, but I don't think having Kinect should be mandatory to be able to play the game.

They will never make a franchise game like forza "kinect only"
It will be an option surely.
They just show how non-kinect games are incorporating the machine. It gives it more purpose than a boxing game no?

That is how I understand it. I don't really understand the want to hold your hands out like that though. The only thing I would want connect for is minority report style controls (which aren't quite there yet). Honestly I would rather they spent their time making better replay cameras than integrating connect.

yeaaaaaa
this is one of the areas where you can use your kinect... you can open all doors/hoods/ etc. and get a detailed look at everything.
if you walk closer/further from the car the zoom implements itself.

BTW, if you preorder at certain retailers you get one of those cars.
Amazon - STi
Best Buy - 1M
Game Stop - Alpha
Walmart - Mini
Target - CRZ
Im still waiting for gameplay footage. Those are just "showroom" renders.

According to Top Gear:
"If you're in America, you can also place your pre-orders for the first time for $59.99, although not yet for the rest of the world. Those who do will qualify for the "ship bonus" car pack, including the mighty Koenigsegg Agera R, Tesla Roadster and 1965 Mustang GT Coupe."

Well, theres a lot going on in Forza world.
I must say I am getting increasingly more dissapointed with each little bit of news I hear of.
It looks like they are really spending time increasing the amount of content that has nothing to do with racing. 10+ hours of content showcasing cars doesn't do much for me, just like photomode. I'd rather have less wasted time in things that have nothing to do with racing and beef up the weather (which I've heard nothing about) and day/night transitions (which I've heard nothing about). It seems like they are so focused on 60fps that they will most likely leave the details out.
I would rather have a solid 30-35fps with FULL reflections, dynamic weather, heat shimmer, better smoke, dynamic lighting, etc. I may loose some of you here, but Shift 2 is a prime example. That game isnt even close to 60fps, but look at it. Visually its stunning. The particle effects are great as well as the heat shimmer and shadows. Its obvious they spent their time making the driving experience fun, and not the photomode.
I've been a Forza guy for a while, but this is just looking like more of the same. A PS3 might be in my future.

I would agree. While the in game footage is stunning, it's been two years since FM3 and they haven't developed night racing or weather? Like you said, they have focused too much on making the cars look pretty rather than adding anything substantially new to the game. Yeah they added the Top Gear element, Kinect, and improved multiplayer options, but that's about it from what I can tell.

The Top Gear thing, from what I understand, is going to be well matched with the new content. Clarkson will narrorate portions of the "car-encyclopedia." That has potential.
Yet again, though, I want real-life weather conditions (rain, snow, fog) and a whole spectrum of lighting conditions. For example, when im in time attack or free mode, every time I click on a track to race its different, randomly or variable would be awesome.
To me...its not "in game" unless there is a car in front of you racing. Those are just pretty menus.
It was said earlier, the only thing they needed to improve upon FM3 was weather and night racing. Instead they've opened a can of worms with all this kinnect stuff. Lets be honest, their ONLY competition is Gran Turismo. If they can't match what they've done, at least, they have failed. One thing I like about different games is being able to see the tracks in different times of the day and weather. Nothing since PGR4 has managed to pull it off, besides GT5 which gives it a run for its money.
That being said, PGR4 came out in 2007 and STILL looks amazing.

lol...I never said I wouldn't have it on the first day
I love the Forza series and am anxious to see what they've improved + head tracking will be awesome and worth the purchase of kinnect alone.

I don't have Kinect and don't plan on purchasing it. Between school and work, I don't have a lot of time to sit and play video games. I'll purchase FM4 and play a few hours a week when I can.

games dont cater to one person
there was tons of things i thought 3 was lacking that they could have easily added... but IMO it was still the best overall experience in its class..
they could make dragonflies burst into a slimey goo on the windshield and i would care less..
its all about the overall experience for me, and forza, gets that right.

sorry for sounding so fanboyish...
i just recently got my hands on a few games i've never gotten the chance to play (friends loaning me their older PS3 games), one of them the soul competitor for forza, and i just wasnt more impressed with any when considering the whole picture.
NFS has some amazing detail, the other juggernaut has a bazillion cars, and some others just have that all out arcade feel that you need sometimes.
but forza (to me) is still the all around best console racer as a whole.
and i do agree that weather and night should have been a no brainer to add to this part of the series, it is something that will be easily forgotten.
i believe forza 4 will dissapoint some, and suprise many... im just ready for release day.. thats all
