Okay, I understand I am screwed and Microsoft sucks. I played halo 3 and on the third day it froze and then my system went stupid.

Question is on what to do. For those that have had this issue do they send you a prepaid box?

I am just pissed because I am currently located overseas at a military site so I have an APO address. Apparently they won't ship a box to me for me to send the Xbox back.

I just wanted to check to see if it was actually a prepaid box (postage free) or if I am totally getting screwed.

Just pissed that they won't send it and no one when I was on the phone (yeah 1 hour of international charges) would tell me why. I can get mail, packages, amazon shipments, etc to my APO box. Apparently Microsoft is not advanced enough to handle it.

Just venting. Sucks ass

The towel trick is a temporary fix. I had the same three flashing red lights on my xbox ,then tried the towel trick. It only lasted for a few days, I tried the towel trick again, it would stay on for a few minutes then freeze again. I was able to get my 360 replaced with the warranty. Good Luck

 

just goes to show how much microsoft sucks and how XBox has problems

not saying it's a bad console (actually, yeah I am)
several of the games on the system are good, but PS3 is ultimately going to win the console war...

i mean, i still have yet to hear about the PS3 having a major problem... yet the 360 has 4 light combos to tell you it's screwed up...

and of course, you can say that PS3 has no good games...
well let's see, 360 has had an extra year for producers to get used to it

PS if you want to talk about "winners" then the wii wrapped up that title. Nintendo is the only company actually pulling a profit of the sales of systems.

 

the Wii is a great system, i'll give it that... but it doesn't quite fit into the console wars, IMO

it's more of a fun, pick it up for about 20 min system...
the PS3 and the 360 are more of a hardcore gamer system...

I'm no microsoft fan. I'm an apple fanboy. I used to be a big Sony fanboy, but I've watched them makes the same stupid mistakes over and over and over again for the last 30 years, all before your punk ass was born. The simple fact is Sony can't get their act together. There are enough facts out there to prove it that I don't need to sit here and type everything out, but most of it recently pertains to the PS3. Sony isn't dominating anything, nor are they poised to win anything.

Will the PS3 survive and maintain a marketshare, sure it will (of course Sony did have to be the first one to offer a price drop to even start moving the consoles, yet they were LAST to the market, hmmmm.) But just because you are some teen with a raging hard on for the PS doesn't mean anything other then you like your PS3 a lot. You're trying to make a subjective comment an objective one. And that right there shows true ignorance.

i was just stating that PS3 is the better system... it's just that the 360 got more time to create a base for itself...

Better How? That it is more difficult for game developers to develop for, which has left the system losing several "exclusive" titles. That after huge delays Sony finally entered the market and in less then a year was forced to drop the price of the system. The the multimedia functionality doesnt hold a candle to the integration xbox has with movie rentals, tv shows purchases, etc and so forth. That just 3 months ago you could walk into any store and find PS3 lying around, but many stores were out of stock on xboxs and wiis?

Kid thats great you like the PS3, and I'm not on here to knock it. It does have its merits.
But the whole "my system is better then yours" well thats purely subjective. And if you dont know what that means...well basically it means it come down to what the individual person prefers. Give it up already.

yeah, no. Unlike the ps3 the iphone were selling and mantaining sales. They lowered the price to appeal to even more people.

After the initial ps3 launch you could walk in stores and find them lying around untouched. I believe the ps3 launch was considered an overall bomb.

not true. They both started developing games at the same time. I have friends who are game designers. And they all said the ps3 is way more difficult to design for. This has been corrobarated in articles.

 

I have both, both are equally fun. My question is, do I need to buy the best buy warrenty thing for xbox incase of the red ring of death? I already got one for the ps3 and used it to upgrade to a 60gig. Should I spend the 60 bucks on the xbox replacement plan?

I had a 360 when they first came out and never had any problems. I traded it in for an Elite to get hdmi.

eb and yes...but like I said, it worked perfect since the day i bought it, so that wasnt an issue. I just wanted hdmi.

different third party companies could've started making games when the PS3 dev kit became available, but the 360's dev kit came out first...

I just went through this again (4th time)....Microsoft doesnt even send out pre-paid boxes anymore. Lame.

 

I just got the 3 rings on Friday night. Got on xbox.com and they are sending me out a box. Whether it is pre-paid or not, I don't know.
