Taste of Chicago 4th of July Weekend

Hey All,

I'll be checking out Taste of Chicago 4th of July weekend. I'm going to be staying at www.hotel71.com. I'm flying into Midway and was wondering if it's easy to take public transportion to the hotel?

I saw this thread about places to check out while in Chicago but wanted to see if there were any good breakfast/brunch that I should check out.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=Chicago

I've been looking up things on tripadvisor but wanted to get opinions from some locals.

Thanks, John

Nice. Our Taste of Charlotte is coming up June 5th/6th/7th. Can't wait. Nothing like walking around the city eating like a pig!

Didn't even know there was a Tast of Charlotte. Charlotte is not to far from ATL. I should take a road trip while my wife in out-of-town that weekend.

Ask google maps. It knows all about public transportation. I like the Chicago train system since you can go just about anywhere for a couple of bucks if you don't mind walking a few blocks. Cabs are much more pricey.

Thanks for the info. I've been using google maps for walking directions around the city. Didn't think about it for public transportation.

It's very easy to get from Midway to Hotel 71 - take the orange line from Midway to State/Lake stop then walk one block north on State St. to Wacker Dr., turn right (east) and your hotel is right there.

You can walk from the hotel to the Taste; don't even bother getting a cab. I work across the river from 71 so let me know if you have other questions. Can't help ya with breakfast places, though.

Thanks! It's been a couple of years since I've been to Chicago, I'm looking forward to exploring the city. I stayed at the Swissotel last time I was in town, great views of the city.

^^^^

There should be plenty of CTA buses going to the "taste" all around the city. I was going to suggest the free trolleys, but it looks like they have been discontinued.

Thanks for the info guys. Grant Park is walking distance from our hotel. We'll probably only need to cab it when going to a club.

Thanks for the suggestion! We'll check it out on a day that we don't go to the taste.
