which: 04-06 Acura MDX - Acura certified
when: in the next 3-16 months
why: Murano lease is up in two months, AV6's lease is up in 16 months, and we need the utility but don't want to buy new this time around.

I'll likely follow this up in three years with a used E46 M3 (pref convertible).

C6 or Z06 in the next 3-5 years. It really depends on how much cash I save up in the meanwhile!

Keepin my 03 TL-S as the daily because it's practical and reliable. When it's paid (1.5yrs) getting an 97-01 NSX because I have always wanted one, fun, kind of exotic, and reliable.

I think the current a5/s5 is one of the sexiest cars ever made, underpowered but gorgeos... something about the upcoming S4/S5's in 2010 with the SC V6's is driving me crazy, looks with the performance to match I hope

I'm in the same boat in the NSX camp - just waiting for the right deal on a low mileage '02+

Wifey thinks I'm silly for wanting to buy a car which will sit in the third garage bay 5 months out of the year and will prob see less than 3000 miles annually.

Have given serious thought to an '09 C2 or waiting for the upgraded Cayman S. Can't see myself springing for anything flashier or more flossy in this environment...

Def will be manual rowing and rwd involved though. No PDK or SMG for moi.

What: If I was in the market right now, I would no doubt me looking at the new A4/S4 and probably a 3 series. But 1) I'm in no position to, and 2) teh TSX is still running like a champ and probably will for years and years more.

When: Realistically? I'll probably be looking for a new car in 5 years or so.

Why: Because the new Audi's are . By the time I'm ready to buy a new car though, I'm sure they'll have changed the look. Who knows what I'll like by then.

What: 2010/11 Chevy Camaro SS, Audi S5, or New Acura Coupe

When: Within the next year or two

Why: Because I really want a RWD or AWD coupe with some good power and hopefully a manual.

I'm with you, my problem is I am torn between a new 328i exactly like I want it, or for about the same money a year or two old 335i that may not be what I want, but the engine on the other hand....

I've found two 335 coupes that are calling my name. Both can be had in very low 30s with less than 6K miles. Even a tasty 328 coupe is just south of 30K.

My problem is getting my lazy ass over to check them out.

Next purchase will be for the wife. Her uncle has a GM & Chrysler dealership, so odds are we'll end up with something from him. but we've driven a Civic and Jetta and she likes them both. I'm trying to get her into Honda and as far away from Volkswagen as possible.

What: Anything from Honda Civic EX-L/Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 to Jeep Patriot
When: mid-2009
Why: Her current ride, 2001 Jeep Cherokee, is a piece

For me, my '06 TSX M/T is still fun to drive and will be good for quite a while. However, my next car will probably be a Honda Fit Sport Though it's not a sporty as the TSX, the Fit is just an awesome car. Question is: Do I go with manual or auto tranny?

Good god, they're giving them away. When I remember down here we were paying 60k+ for new 335 coupes last year.

Get off your lazy ass, you shouldn't even need motivation to go test drove a Twin Turbo BMW.

Despite the value of the US dollar and the Canadian dollar, don't forget cars still cost more up there.

It still is tempting, hell $30k is like a semi-loaded Accord, or a nicely equipped year or two old 335i.... that's not a hard choice to make!

Next vehicle will be a Honda Element:

When? Probably before this summer
Why? We have a sedan (the RL) and we have a dog. Plus we need something to carry junk in (mostly hers) The TL is close to 200,000 miles and there is no need for two sedans. I have friends who are interested in buying it for a few thousand bucks.

I'm glad you mention that. It's maybe because I'm a car enthusiast, but I've always wondered why people would go for a brand new Accord or Altima instead of picking up a lightly used G35 or 335i. I see so much more value in used cars in my opinion whereas you get a lot more for your dollar. Maybe it's because it's pricier down the road with maintenance and everything and I understand some people will never buy used, but it's no-brainer for some of us.

Hey I bought my RL for less than half of its original price and it only had 20,000 miles on it or so. Well-treated used cars for the win.

Usually cars don't just blow up right after you buy them, pending you actually do a thorough test drive and look at the car. Service records help, and so does asking the seller/owner but info from them should be only taken with a grain of salt.

Well I knew the owner.. ladies in their 60's generally take care of their cars. Its a 1st gen RL, its not like people abuse those cars All maintainence was done properly and there wasnt a scratch or even a wrinkle in the leather

i was going to buy a G35, but my friend had lots of trouble with his 6mt 350z, went to the dealership twice in one year for bad syncros. so that scared me off alot because he bought his z for 17k from a reputable dealership.

Which: Audi R8TDI/R10, 998 C2S, 998 GT3, 997 Turbo, 360 Modena used, or Gallardo used.
When: I dunno, maybe 3 years or so from now. Still love the C2S even more than when i first got it and it's more than enough car for me.
Why: Try something different, more rare?

Which: Mazda Miata, Saturn Sky, Honda S2000, or Subaru Legacy

When: Christmas 2010

Why: One of those first 3 would be for summer time fun and to give myself a nice christmas present. And all of those cars can be found for a reasonable price used. The Legacy would just be a full out replacement for the RL if I chose to move on from that car.

Just helped my mother pick up a 2 year-old 06 GS430, only 14K miles, glacier frost mica, loaded. Really clean, the owner detailed the car weekly. He was a nurse and recently was laid off which was too bad but we were able to get the car for $32K (sticker was $57K).
