Which: my next car choice will depend on the reason i am getting another car...

1.) if it is to replace my current daily driver, i will prob just drive the 3rd gen and get a GS350 to replace the TL...
2.) if it is a toy, 6spd vette convertible, or lotus elise...

My lease on the 3G TL is done in April, but I haven't found a car yet that seems like a big enough improvement over it to replace it.

I may end up buying out the lease and keeping the TL until a 3200 lb., 300 HP+, 180" long luxo-sport 4-door sedan with more room than a Lexus IS and nicer interior than a BMW 3-series comes along.

Which: undecided, but its a toss up between an AP2 S2000, a C5 Z06, and maybe an STi or LGT Spec B. Who knows, I might even just pick up a smaller Toyota truck (I really like the new Tacos) or a Jeep to go offroading, snowboarding or whatever. Or even a sportbike... I guess an F4i to learn on since they're pretty cheap.

When: no idea really, just been drooling over these cars/trucks/bikes for a long time now

Why: Love roadsters/open air cars, love cars that look aggressive, are fast, handle well, are moddable, have potential and are fun to drive. I also want a car that can sound good if I put a system in it. I've been in some Camaros than handle pretty damn well and I've seen some that just plain haul ass. The car suits me fine, but I always have that curious itch.

I could only wish. I don't like spending more than $15K on cars because the more you spend the more you lose. I switch them every year MAX (hopefully 2 with the 6s) so I have to be very concious about resale values. Currently the GS's are out of my ideal price range, but in two years I can see them being around $16-17K with miles around 60-70K....that's when I'll start searching.

Why: Lease ends on my Audi next year and I've been consistently down grading (RL->Audi->Fit or GTI?) in order to save more money. With Wedding plans and a new house on the horizon, I'm looking for ways to maximize the cash flow. The idea of a hot hatch has been on my mind because I love wagons too. Anyhow, I'm gravitating towards the GTI (great performance potential), but the "frugal" part of me is saying to go with the Fit (saves money on payments, insurance, and gas; use cash saved towards more investments and retirement). Oh the dilemma

What - No idea because I don't know what will be out in a few years. If I had to choose from what's available today, the likely candidates would be another TL, the G35, and the IS350. I've always liked the BMW 5 series too but a new one is a bit more than I'm willing to pay and I don't want a used one because of BMW's poor reliability. The Legacy is supposed to be redesigned in 2010 I think, maybe the new one will be really nice. My choice will also depend on how much money I'm making in a few years, in my industry we tend to switch jobs often and you can never predict if your next job will pay really good or so-so.

When - Probably not for a few more years, my TL is still running strong with less than 85k kms on it so there's no hurry. Also it'll be paid off in a few more months so it'll be nice to not have payments any more. I'll probably start looking for a replacement right before it's time for some major maintenance (ie new timing belt).

Why - I need a reliable, fast, and comfortable sport sedan, and the pickings are slim.
