Happy to hear that there weren't any passengers in the vehicle.

Yeah def seems as if the guardrail wasn't laid out properly. Should of been angled more at the beginning.

Exactly what I was thinking. Someone screwed up installing that segment of guardrail. Paying attention or no, that was a freak accident. Thank goodness there was no passenger or that the bad piece of guardrail was not on the drver's side.

That was my thought regarding my MDX. That would have taken out my wife and my 3 y/o daughter in one shot.

I doubt you could shove a guardrail through a packed engine bay, then through the rest of the car travelling at say, 60-65 mph. Not to mention half the wooden stands he took out. Which also brings the question: How are half of them not knocked over?
It does not look like the guardrail hit the engine block, but rather missed the block and went through the firewall, over the top of the seats and out the back window.

If he hit the guardrail at any other point, he probably would have been severily injured or dead......he dodged a serious bullet.

Technically the guardrail is now a "passenger"

As much as i agree with the statement... it dosnt matter with a crash like that. the ONLY thing that saved the driver and passenger(s) was where they sat. God knows what wouldve happened if he drifted to the other side...

One lucky MF'n driver.
Lucky they walked away to get some sleep, vs a permanent dirt nap
