My mom is in the market to buy a new vehicle. nothing any time soon, maybe in a year or so.
She really likes the Juke. Right now, she has a 2004 Nissan Frontier and has given us no problems at all. it has about 105k miles and everything is working as intended, including the transmission.
She doesnt want a Honda because of transmission woes.
She wants something a little high off the ground but not gigantic. The juke fits the bill, and with great track record of having trannies that last.
the Juke is a 4 cylinder turbo, which I think would be fun!!!
also, its small and cute.
thoughts?

^ My dad (who works part-time at a Nissan dealer b/c he likes to stay busy, even when retired
) rants and raves about that car. Feedback from customers has been nothing but stellar, and most importantly, the service feedback is great as well. They can hardly keep them on the lot and when they do come in, they're sold almost as quickly.
My thing is that on the commercial I love the thing, but in real life... it is one of the ugliest vehicles I've seen in a long time. Looks like someone took an ugly stick to a Nissan Versa, raised it a bit, and called it a Juke. So personally, not a fan... but if your mom likes it... it would be a great vehicle for her.

right up there with the 4G TL.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it is ugly. Like I said, it doesn't look bad in the commercials, but nasty in person. It's almost like every Juke commercial was filmed using "MySpace" angles...
gf's sister owns a juke... looks fucking weird but inside its not so bad, and drives well too, its a different feel due to the box but it does feel peppy and the interior quality is nice too.
It's not for me but she really loves it and my gf thinks its really charming too

I think the Juke is cool. Haven't heard much about problems from them either. I prefer the looks of the Sportage though and it appears more practical (usable space).
Picking out a car in this segment (small to midsize crossovers/wagons) is tough. A shit load of choices and all seem pretty good.

If your mom can live with a $350.00 CVT transmission fluid change every 30k miles go for it! I got rid of my wife 07 maxima for that reason. And, if you do it yourself it's $11.00 a quart and takes about 10 and if you use other brand you'll lose your transmission warranty according to the owners manual.
Eh, +∞ on the Juke's ugly looks. I'm not sure how important cargo room is, but it's rather limited. IMO, for compact SUV's it's the Rav4 V6, Sportage Turbo, and maybe the new CX-5 when it comes out.
I'd say take a look at the Kia Soul. A lot nicer looking than the Juke and a much better warranty.
Also the commercials are much better than the Juke commercials.
