:wtf: My car just started by itself....

I'm sitting here on my computer, all of a sudden I hear my car start...I run to see if anything is doing, nobody is near the car. I have an autostarter, I look at the display (Viper 2 way alarm) and see on the display that the car shows to have been autostarted-----by itself!! I called my brother, who is the only other person with my key, and he was sleeping... I have this car for 5 months, this never happened before...

I've had it happen before maybe 5 or so years ago... I had to take my dad's car for a few weeks which had an autostart on it to college. Had a few instances where the car started itself...a couple at my apt and a couple at my fraternity house. Never did it back home, so something must have the same signal as the autostarter around the university...

doubt it since once the brake is applied in autostart, the car shuts right off. Seconldy to move the car, you have to be in gear.

The steering wheel locks if you try to turn the wheel, so you can't go anywhere other than the direction the tires are facing. It disengages when the key is in accessory mode and you push on the brake...

FYI, my brother told me he heard my car start again at like 3:30am this morning...twice in one night...very odd..

I bet you on the back of the transmitter or somewhere it says "This product is inspected by the FCC and must accept any interference" or some bull crap like that...
