WTF Integra Type-R

First of all I love the way the seller spell "knot". Second, how much do you want to bet this is not a genuine Type-R? Maybe someone can check the VIN#.

Also, how in the hell can this not be a total loss? The interior was gutted and look at that rediculous dashboard! Talk about this car going through hell and back.

What a waste of a Teggy.

Rear wheels appearing mysteriously askew......

Jeez, just part the damn thing out. That is, if its B18C5 hasn't mysteriously regressed into being a B18C1.....

A bit of me died looking at that.... WTF is that mish mash of parts? Probably is a genuine ITR, if anything at least a GS-R. Original color seems be to Phoenix Yellow as seen from the interior photos, and there's holes for the ITR wing. But it comes with a ruined 94 bumper with a molded lip, and which wheels come with the car?

If it still had the B18C5 in it, I would buy it for the engine and part out.... but at a price of $4000 as a "Buy It Now" price, I HIGHLY doubt it. Plus every damn original ITR part has been removed as far as I can see. They even took the 5-lug hubs! I'm thinking its a shell, no engine, no tranny. No ITR wing, ricer rear bumper, and is that a EG dash and taupe LS seats?

Gave the pics a good look, only thing that is ITR-unique that still remains is the ITR decals on the quarter panels and the PY paint. That car is simply an LS with a stiffened, spot welded chassis..... what a shame. Someone needs to resurrect that car.

I don't believe it to be a genuine type-r. The color appears to be the phoenix yellow.

The wheels appear to be 4 lug and all type r's have 5 lug wheels.
The seats should be solid black with red stitching and they appear to be the stock gs seats.

The main thing is the wheels for the giveaway. but dam that is one ripped up integra. it does make me cry a little as my former car probably looks something like this.

stupid theives.

Someone needs to run the VIN and find out what it really is. Because if it's not a real Type-R someone needs to tell this asshat to go take a hike.

Of course at this point I don't know why anyone would want it anyway. You could probably go buy a decent 94-95 GSR for that kind of money.

I'm pretty sure the entire interior was stripped. So the original Type R seats are probably long gone. The dash is out of a Civic.

That is a type r shell if that vin number is correct because the chassis code is DC2 and that only other possible trim of the DC2 chassis code is the GSR but all GSR's have sunroofs so I'm almost positive that is a Type R shell. Clean title type R shell = great project car.

I guess at this point the $64,000 question is if it has the B18C5.

its not a type R shell. the auction place doesn't know crap about Acura's
#1. seats
#2 4 lug vs 5 lug
#3. no sunroof

trust me this is "knot" a type R.
some dumbass with a LS put type R stickers on his LS to make his LS faster.

you don't even have to look at the seats, lugs, or sunroof because look at the dash...that is fucking civic's dashboard.

Integra Type-Rs never came with a sunroof. The only trims that didn't come with a sunroof was the Type-R and RS. And if he gave the correct VIN, according to Carfax, it is a Type-R.

If you look at the photos, you'll note the absence of a shifter. I suspect there is no transmission or engine either. I bet anything that made that Integra a Type-R-- hubs, interior, engine, transmission and wheels-- was completely stripped from the car. It's a beat up half-body shell of an Integra with a clean "salvage" title.

Engine and transmission are listed as N/A, which leads me to believe no engine or tranny. $4K for an ITR shell? One man's garbage is another man's treasure.

not a type R, it's a 4 lug car (unless after it got everything stolen they just put on some 4 lug discs)

I think we have a winner

Even though it would be possible to convert the car back to a four lug set up, why would you? And where's the big freakin wing?

Like someone else has mentioned, only GSR's and Type R's have the chasis code DC2 in the VIN number.

All other 2 drs are DC4, and the 4 drs are DB8.

The shell must've been from a Type R because it has no sunroof (all GSR's have sunroofs). I guess someone bought the stripped shell previously and put in the EG Civic dash, regular Integra seats, and the 4 lug hubs..

Wing, hub, dash, etc you can change out, but you can't just delete a sunroof from the car, same goes for the VIN #.

^Thank you. However, you can always remove the sunroof and weld a panel where the hole is, then grind it down, sand it, and repaint it. But its true, because the only other Integra model without a sunroof is the RS (DC4). There are quite a few amount of Honda owners that do the 4-lug to 5-lug conversion. One of the parts that they need is the 5-lug hub from a Prelude, or of course, an ITR.

I'll settle this once and for all. It IS a Type-R. Apparently the car was inspected, and the VIN is authentic. So.....

How to decode an integra vin # (from helms)
Example VIN
JH4DB7551WS000001

Seperate the VIN like so

JH4 DB7 5 5 1 W S 000001

JH4=Honda Motor Co. Ltd. Acura Passenger Vehicle

DB7 = Body and engine type.
DB7: 4dr B18B
DB8: 4dr B18C
DC4: 2dr B18B
DC2: 2dr B18C

5= Body and transmission type
3: 2dr 5spd
4: 2dr auto
5: 4dr 5spd
6: 4dr auto

5= Vehicle grade *note* - may vary from year to year...
1: Type R
3: RS no pass. airbag (94)
4: RS with passenger airbag (94)
5: LS
6: GS/SE
8: GS-R
9: GS-R w/ leather seats

1= check digit, disreguard

W= Model year
R: 1994
S: 1995
T: 1996
V: 1997
W: 1998
X: 1999
Y: 2000
1: 2001

S= Factory Code
S: Suzuka, Japan

000001= serial number
Borrowed from here: http://www./forum/show...threadid=56365

The car's VIN is: JH4DC2313YS004633

Also if you check the autocheck records, it says:
AutoCheck Score Range: 72-84
Year: 2000
Make: Acura
Model: Integra R
Style/Body: Hatchback 2D
Engine: 1.8L I4 PFI
Country of Assembly: Japan

yeah it could be because the 5 lug conversion is very sought after for the whole JDM look.
