Nope, Modding my car is important to me and if i can't mod it all, I won't enjoy driving the car

Would you buy another Acura knowing that....
Regarding the recent announcments that Comptech is shutting their doors:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187123
Knowing that many of you guys enjoy modding your cars, would you buy another Acura knowing that you not be able to mod the car at all with Comptech not making parts anymore?
Sure AEM, Nuespeed and Mugen are around, but Mugen parts can be pricey. And the newer models don't have many aftermarket parts available unless you own an integra/civic/prelude/s2000 and since Comptech was pushing so many aftermarket parts for Acura's in terms of engine upgrades, this is a pretty big blow to performance upgrades.

The sizzle in the Steak
Neither.
My Ownership experience was meh at best.
Reliabiltiy was horrible (tranny)
Quality was average at best (poor paint, and tons of rattles)
Dealership/Service was on par with a Honda dealer (not a luxury car company)
Those reasons along with Acura's designs, engines, & FWD only options are leading me to look elsewhere.

If the vehicle lends itself to modding and there is demand, someone will make parts.
If Acura comes out with a car and this doesn't happen, then it's either already the shit and can't be improved on (unlikely) or else it isn't worth the trouble.
Like GM, I'm still waiting for another coupe - and make mine a tuna boat, not a tuna can!

This is one of my first mods -- Comptech springs + Comptech sways for my car. The TL-S NEVER felt any better than the day I bought them and had them installed. My car was transformed into a quasi-sports sedan! ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
Now ... with this hole in the mods bin for Honda/Acura parts, I doubt I will not 'buy' a car because of limited mod options. There will be others to fill the void (albeit at a later date ... since most Acuras are of relative low volume except for 'hardcore' models like the NSX, etc or mainstream models like 'teg, TSX, etc)
However ... as my priorities change, I doubt I'll be "allowed" to mod my car from the GF. Have to focus my funds on carbon-based products ...

Don't love the brand, just the CARS!
I voted "maybe" since there is no option for love the "car" and would get it even without mods available.
I only look at specific cars, rather than brands. I love the TL and the TSX, but don't like the MDX and RDX mommy-mobiles, and the RL is a "myeh." I don't need mods, but would get another TL or a TSX as long as Acura makes them perform well and doesn't make them too outre or Transformer-like in design.

of course i would still buy acuras. The trannys on the newer ones are pretty good and acura plans a coupe debut most likely in 2009 with the TSX and TL Next Gens. Even though comptech shut its doors, more companies will start moving in into developing products for acuras. One example are the 3rd Gen TL swaybars. Comptech was the frst and then just a little while back, another company released one as well. Even Though modding won't be as easy still YES!!!

I dont have comptech parts. This is my 3rd Honda/Acura car and the whole engineering, comfort and reliability can't even be compared to other car manufacturers. I know I can drive my car to the ground rebuild the engine and run it to the ground again.

don't care much for comptech's at all. Crap quality for such ridiculously high prices.
here those stories on the TL forums with all the rusting on sway bars and cracking of the springs?
plus the exhausts arent that much better than stocks, but cost $1000+ and the headers are not bad, but there are many other ones that can hold up just as well with the similar quality.
i'll get another acura. comptech isnt the only aftermarket brand out there anyways.

Well, I'd care more if they made nice bodykits...but, since they don't. Meh.
<--------- Will be looking for another snowplow kit if/when changing to another Acura down the line.
