Windshield Protective Film

Does anybody have any first hand experience with current windshield protective films? I'm not talking about rubbery 3m clearbra from 10 years ago. But the stuff that's out there now, like Exoshield, https://www.getexoshield.com/ Not sure what else is out there, maybe XPel has something similar?

How's the clarity?
Does it bubble when a rock hits it?
Does it fade or haze over time really easily?
How does it react to wipers?

My windshield gets absolutely peppered in small chips. To the point where i can't see out of it when the sun is setting cause it just glares off all the small chips in my windshield. We had our first snowfall the other day, and when i turned on the defroster, a crack started forming, likely from a previous rock chip. The crack is now almost all the way across the windshield, so I'll need to get it replaced. Just want to look into options for preventing the small chips.

I took the liberty to move this topic to Car Talk as there is a wider audience-base versus model-specific members.

As well, I am very interested given how often I go through windshields. Never heard of this before.

Cool. I dont think i've ever posted here, but makes sense.

I've seen a few vids about it last year. Obsessed Garage put it on his GT3RS. But i havn't really come across any real world reviews. or vids on how they old up in the long run.

I'd be interested in this, as well. Arizona is very tough on windshields.

So i found some local installers (I'm in Canada). Their starting price is 480-500 for Exoshield... an aftermarket windshield is going to cost me $400 for PPG. I'd rather go OEM, but it's on backorder for 2 months, and the crack in my windshield is over 2' long now...

if your windshield takes that kind of beating, what does the front of your vehicle look like? Do you have any paint protection film on it?

My front bumper was absolutely peppered. Then I got rear ended last year and paid extra to have them respray the front. Then I had film put on as soon as the paint cured. It's been fine since.

Thankfully because of how the grill is shaped my hood is fairly clean. So i only needed the film on the bumper, grill and lights.
