Should've gotten the Caddy Wagon (aka CTS Sport Wagon). Or better yet, a Vagon. But of course, I'm biased.
Just kidding. Enjoy the SRX! It should be a nice ride for the wife. What options did you get?
I am so jealous of the smartphone app, too. Since I have a 2009 (OnStar 8.x), I can't use it. GM is supposedly working on making it backward compatible with OnStar 8.x cars like mine, but they sure are taking their sweet time.

For the segment you're in, I think you got the best available.
And the app is cool beans. I've been playing with mine since the day I picked up my truck. Did the same thing with the horn and lights when my sister borrowed my truck and she called me up thinking she broke something

Do you have an '08 RDX? Pre-Beak nose?
That's the best one IMO, you should consider buying it out, I'm sure the dealer will give a deal considering that there is a new facelift and all and dealers don't exactly love getting cars back from leases...

Wow that onstar app is nice!! Didn't know it gives you gas tank numbers and tire pressure info too...
LOL at the horn honking at your wife. Did you tell her about the onstar app or are you going to keep it quiet and have more fun with her? I vote that route...keep playing around till she's about to say "trade it in i dont' want it anymore" then show her the app and get a punch in the arm.

Awesome pickup. Needs some bigger wheels though.
That application is so cool. Hopefully all cars will come with this at some point.

36 mos/12k miles: $435/month with about $3,300 OOP
I got the standard customer rebate, I used GM Card cash ($1000), and was on a "private offer" list, which gave me an extra $1,500 rebate. With all those factored in, that got me to the price I'm at now.
A little more than I wanted to be, but if the wife's happy, I'm happy.
When we were between the GLK and the SRX, the GLK was clearly cheaper. When she was leaning towards the SRX because that GLK demo wasn't the interior she wanted and had the ugly rear entertainment system in the car, I told her that it's the better deal of the two, and with her always pushing me to save money, it's the better car to go with. She then said to me, "you know how you always tell me not to hold back on spending, you need to spend some money on yourself because you have to live and enjoy because you only live once? Well, this is my way of living once!". I didn't expect her to ever throw that back at me, but good for her!
After her driving the car for the last 2 days, she is complaining a little about how heavy the car feels. I told her it's because it is heavy, and she's going to have to get used to it. I wish I had the time to wait for the '12 model, because it's going to have the more powerful 3.6 engine, but it is what it is..

You know, usually every night she's home early and I come home late, so we barely spend time with each other during the week. Last night she went out with my sister to the "GLEE" concert (yea, she's a GLEEk), and for the first time in a while, I got home early (8:30). I was in bed at about midnight and went into the app to see if there was any update in movement and realized that the car's mileage went up 2 miles from earlier in the day before she went to the concert (she didn't drive there), so I knew she was on the way home. When she came home she tells me that she was surprised that I didn't message her to find out why she came home later than she said she was supposed to be, then I told her I knew she was on the way home already so didn't bother, and tilted my phone display her way to see that I was in the app and saw that she was moving, so I knew she was on the way home. She freaked out and said "so now what, you're going to know every time when I'm driving? You're starting to freak me out!"

that app is pretty awesome!
the SRX are pretty nicely built and well crafted vehicles. I have been R&I'ing some recently. Im going to be working on the next one within a week. I think its the same platform as the GMC Terrain, which has a below average build quality.
