^ I tried building that when it was released.
I said BS after because of the same reason.
And the lower trim model looks pretty bland too. It looks so much better when you start adding up the key packages.

I actually went to the NY Auto show and saw it, took a pic, sent it to my wife and said "your new car" - BUT she didn't go for it..
I like the LR2, she does too. I like the RR Sport too, but she won't let me get it for her (because it's WAAAAY out of our budget). It sucks that they don't have a decent lease program for the LR2. The residual is in the shitter, I think that's why.

Just waiting on one other guy to see if he has anything like it before committing to the silver one. They put my name on it but I didn't give them an app or anything yet.

sounds like a polished turd if you ask me. the sticker is almost double that of the base model...and it has the same engine.
...as long as the leasing makes sense...

Fair enough. I have nit-picking deal breakers myself (looking to get a 325xi, won't even look at a non-sport package E90 because of the wheels). Unless you branch out of the CUVs to maybe a Cherokee or the new Explorer, both of which I sat in at the NYAS as well and really liked..then it seems like the SRX is the way to go for you.

I think it's kind of silly for the OP, who deals directly with cars on a daily basis, see all the inside numbers, have much more knowledge about the auto industry than 99% of us, would ask what's best for his wife. It is or going to be the wife's car; get her whatever she likes if it falls within your budget. I suggest make a list of all the small suvs on the market and go test drive them. Cross each off if it doesn't suite your wife. The ones she likes, work with the numbers. It's a lease! It's not like you'll be keeping it for 3+ years.

so....517/mo with the down pmt rolled in, for 10k/yr on a $33,000 stripped down FWD suv.
heated front seats: add $1,000
nav: add $2,700
power seats: add $2,500
AWD: add $2,000
basic luxuries = 672/mo....while leaving another $4,000+ left of packages on the table.

idk, shoof...
...japs out of question
...euro is going to lack a value that someone like yourself will never accept
...which leaves american...and you and your wife may only be satisfied with cadillac's srx.
wheel and deal your shit until you could make the SRX obtainable. i know certain dealerships still have specials on leftover 2010 srxs.

I worked up the SRX. The only way that I can get as close to the numbers on the GLK would be if I went 36/39 months, and it's about 10-20 more/month than my final GLK numbers (which also were 24 months, not 36/39). Out of pocket would also be higher, probably somewhere in the $3300 ballpark.
I just had my wife watch some video reviews for both the GLK and the SRX. Both have their pro's and con's, but now she's leaning more towards wanting the SRX, only because it's the more attractive SUV of the two. She was into the GLK and was willing to compromise on the interior color, but when I showed her what the rear seat entertainment looks like, she got turned off. I told her that I can always have it removed and I'll have it reinstalled at the end of the lease. This is what it looks like:
She's even more confused now, but is thinking that she wants the SRX now.
Well, back to square one!
