Why you should run a dash camera
The camera itself is very similar to the Blackvue, but the quality is quite up there, especially at night.
Good thing I didnt order that Lukas camera. I found a different one I want more
Its the BlackVue DR400G-HD. It shoots 1920x1080 30fps, has GPS, and has a great form factor. The one feature I really like is the parking mode. Most of the cameras Ive looked at have a parking mode, but this one only records if it detects motion or if the car gets hit. The videos look pretty good too, especially at night. I can actually make out the license plates, which is the whole point behind a dash cam. You can also adjust the settings through the software. The downside is its more expensive then the others at around $250 on ebay.
To give you an idea of the size:

Afer doing my own research on Google, I wasn't able to find details of dr400...
Most of you guys can't understand Korean, but at least gives you far pics than you can find it on Google.
BlackVue
Now, you guys mind wonder who came first place in sales?
inavi
This little guy doesn't even offer GPS system, but still came on top.
My dad is currently in Korea, so I might ask him to pick me up a blackvue or inavi.. can't decide which one, but I am leanning towards inavi.
The DR400G-HD - the one I bought - has built in GPS.
I believe the DR300 and the DR350 dont have GPS, but the DR300G does (hence the G at the end of the model number). The difference is fps and resolution, with the DR400G-HD coming on top at 1920x1080 at 30fps.
EDIT - I just realized you were talking about the Inavi unit. I shouldnt be online this late
The Inavi camera has a nice form factor, but not having GPS is a deal breaker. And maybe its just the upload, but the night video on the site you provided doesnt look as clear as the BlackVue.
Double Edit - It must've been their website, a night vid on YouTube looks pretty good

Inavi not having GPS feature is definitely a deal breaker for sure.
Price is about same and quality is about same, so why not get the BlackVue?
Do you know when you would receiving yours?
I read bunch of reviews through korean sites, but would like to hear from you.
edit:
speaking of devil.. my boss JUST walked with a blackbox cam in his hand asking for me to install it for him. WOW!

And thats a crazy coincidence that your boss just got one

I was looking at the FineVu as well. Not bad, but I didnt really like the form factor.
I know...timing was crazy.I was on this thread reading your post, too. Setup was fairly easy. I was able to do the whole set up within 5-10min.. It took that long because of the cable. I had to run through side pillar and roof panel to hide the cable much as possible.
I didn't get to test it yet, but I am planning on doing it later today...
You kind of answered my question... I was going to ask you, is there differences between US model and Korean model, but obviously you are getting yours from Korea, so I guess there isn't one.
My boss is planning getting another one for the rear.. I kind want to do it for front and rear, but don't think its worth spending $500 for blackbox. Plus, setting it up for the rear could be a big hassle.

Yea, if I were to run one front and rear I would have gotten a regular DVR unit and two of those pinhole cameras.
Just got an email that the BlackVue is on backorder until next week
I probably wont have it until the middle of March.

Just got it!!
The packaging is very nice.

Everything it comes with; camera
, holder, power adapter, mini SD card (I got the 16GB version, its a Samsung card
), SD card adapter, USB SD card reader, two video out cables, an extra double sided tape pad for the holder, four plastic wire clips, the user manual, and a quick start guide. Unfortunately, the manual and guide are not in English, but the internet exists for a reason

The holder has a spring loaded locking tab on it so the camera wont pop out.

And for size, here it is compared to the GoPro HeroHD and an iPod Video:

Ill be installing it tonight and Ill post up some reviews on it tomorrow or Friday

I ended up getting same one as my boss did, FineVu.
I almost bought a blackvue just like yours, but FineVu offers much better angel (129˚ (diagonal), 112˚(horizontal), 62˚(vertical) vs. 120(diagonal), 98˚(horizontal), 55˚(vertical)), and 5,000,000pixels, vs 2,073,600pixels.
I also got mine today, so I will be installing mine as well.

So far, Ive found the English manual online. Theres also a firmware update out, which is nice that the company (Pittasoft) supports it the way they do.
Im currently looking for the BlackVue MyView program that they use, but thats proving to be a bit difficult.
EDIT - DERP! The files were on the memory card
DOUBLE EDIT - I take that back. According to the user manual the files should be on the card, but my card is blank.

Apparently when you first start it up the camera itself puts all the needed files on the card. Took some digging to find on the BlackVue site.
Shuddup
How was I supposed to know thats how they packaged the software??
I used it tonight, I was pleasantly surprised by the GPS accuracy, the program, and the video quality. Ill post a full review on it tomorrow once I get some day time videos.

Fine
Heres a quick night video.

On the highway, no light for miles except for the headlights. Thats video straight from the camera. I had my sunroof open, so thats why the sound sucks.

Once again, sun roof open. Mostly a boring video, but I wanted to see how it reacted to bright, oncoming lights.
The picture tends to flicker a lot as it changes the white balance. I am in the process of flashing the new firmware that is supposed to help that.

I'm really considering picking up one of these also. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to run two? One forward and one rear? I know that almost $600 is a lot to spend, but I was curious what you guys thought. I'd like to hear your opinions on what you would do. Thanks!
nice vids, pretty clear at night and yes,GAS IS EXPENSIVE!!! lol...now if i can convince the fiance about spending $300 for a dash cam otherwise i might have to speak in men's language (truth twisting) lol.
So I get into an accident. The camera loses power and gets destroyed but the memory card is salvageable. Will i see the accident on the SD card? Or will it not have had time to save due to power loss?
Has anyone tried pulling the power while its recording and see what happens?

I like having GPS since if someone hits me, they cant say I was speeding since I have proof.

All of my videos were there, and the shock sensors were set very sensitive, so almost all of the trip to work last night was in E, or Event mode. Those are protected files that the unit wont delete. I have yet to leave the house today, but once I do Ill get some more videos and post an in depth review this evening.
Also to add, as long as power is supplied, the camera is recording. There is no input from the user needed. My power adapters in the car turn on with the ignition source and the power cord for the camera is insanely long. I actually have enough cable to run it up into the headliner, down the A pillar, across the dash, and into the center console armrest plug so I never have to see it.
If you guys have any questions that you would like answered in the review, or anything you want me to test on it, let me know

IIRC, on the BlackVue, it stores power for 5 seconds. It doesnt run off a battery, but when I unplugged it, it didnt shut down right away.

First review:
Mine was pretty damn sensitive as well.. on a rough roads, it went on E mode pretty often. I guess it's a sign that it is working well.
I haven't connected it to my computer to change the setting yet, but I might lower the sensitivity so that it doesn't waste my memory.
My power cord was also long enough to run through rear cig jack. Mine didn't came with the external power supply thing like yours... I would have to order one soon that it can run off my battery.
Okay, here is my sample:
Forgive my radio noise (ESPN)
<object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Z0bMe63whBA?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Z0bMe63whBA?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
You can hear my black cam going off to E mode twice because of those bumps... I think it's bit sensitive for my taste.

Damn, so niceeee. I don't know if I can justify the cost of getting a camera though. I can pick up a Hero HD for 150 right now. Are these worth the extra dollars?
I doubt I'll get one since I only drive my cars few days a week and cost vs benefit wont be very high for me. I think I'm just feeling jealous.
