To swap to the new hyundai and give it 400hp? http://www.hyundaigenesis.com/coupe/
The car looks great in person. I'd just be a little concerned with the reliability but Hyundai seems to have a fairly good warranty.
The sedan seems like a good buy too. I'm interested to see if anyone makes the switch too.

Lol after owning this acura I would swap to a hyundai in a heartbeat, I bet there are far less problems.

DAMN. Wow.
500 hp Gen Coupe FTW.
And +1 to the comment that Hyundai has stepped up its game with the Genesis. Acura had better be paying attention to its rearview mirror, lest it be passed up in panache as well as performance.

the one thing I really dislike about the genesis coupe, or all hyundais for that matter is simply the logo. It makes the front end of the cars look retarded. But just a little custom grill work and debaging and hell i wouldn't mind one.
first of all, this is the problem, it looks stupid

second, there's a stigma attached to it being a hyundai, it doesnt matter how fast it goes or how reliable it is, it will forever be a hyundai and it will be a few years before it goes away. of course most of us car enthusiast can see past that but it's really hard to pick up a girl when you tell them you drive a hyundai.
it's still a hawt car nonetheless

I drove the V6 and 2.0t last week, both 6-speed models...Instantly I fell in love with the feel of them. The power of the V6 is more my style, but I can see how the boost of the turbo can become addictive; Especially around corners.
This one was prepped for customer pick up. Absolutely perfect - V6, 6-speed, GT Package (Track package).

As Clarkson said, that rear window totally looks like the artist sneezed while drawing the concept and they just went with it. I do still like the styling though, I saw a blue one on the road the other day and it really caught my eye. As for Hyundai's quality, I wouldn't have a problem buying one, they have a rather extensive warranty program, the only thing that's a turn off is the re-sale value but hopefully the genesis line will help bolster more second hand support for their products.
it has almost the same exact engine as the evo x. i'm not surprised. that car has TONS of potential. hyundais going hard with their whole line up. the gen sedan, gen coupe, and the equus that's coming out. for the price of the 2.0T, you can't beat it. oh yea... and in korea, they already got massive amounts of tuned genesis', aftermarket turbos and whatnot.
As much as I love the look of the sedan, I don't like the look of the coupe from some angles. It looks to much like the Tiburon, especially from the rear. Even when I see a picture of it, the first thing that pops into my head is, "Oh the new Tiburon." But kudos to Hyundai for making a great car.

I disagree. I can recall some of the same thinking thirty years ago. All of it towards Honda, Toyota, and (at the time) Datsun. Now everyone who used to own one back then seems to content to remind us all how astute and intelligent they were.

Your absolutely correct. All of America was gun ho against Japanese cars. They were to reliable and most of all practical but butt ugly. Hyundai is the next level all that remains is to get the logo correct. It is ugly.
BTW i would drive anything, ugly or pretty. It either has to have balls or look good or both. The acura has the least balls of any vehicle i have owned but it is a nice compromise between luxury and sport.

BTW, the thread for this car and all info for it is here: https://acurazine.com/forums/automotive-news-6/hyundai-genesis-news-384818/
well that's my point Terry, 30 years ago people thought that. i'm not bashing on hyundai's products by any means, i'd love me a genesis. i'm just saying mass america will take a while to outgrow the stigma, but hyundai's definitely on the right track
Several friends and acquaintances, for the most part astute individuals, now consider Hyundai to be a viable alternative to many other manufacturers. They don't really have anything that appeals to me personally, but if I was looking for a particular car which was readily offered by them, I would definitely consider it.

lol you guys are worried about the LOGO??? this is acurazine... all we do is customize our rides. what's stopping you from spending $30 on a custom badge to put a smile on ur face?
Agreed it's a hyundai but then again every car brand was crap at some point.
Honda made the civic like over 30 years and they were crap... now you drive their better version (ACURA) around and don't think twice about it. HMMMMM do u see a problem here?
Everything can be good OR bad. and SHYT for the price you gotta be someone pretty special to not see how much of an INSANE deal the genesis is.
I think all you haters are gealous the company you use to hate/ and still probably do hate, made a car faster, and cheaper than ours (very close)... lol
I'm sure it's not amazing on all aspects but who cares. That's why there's people like us to make them what they should have been off the assembly line. Plus WHEN this car becomes a HIT, parts will be everywhere for customization in 2-3 years LOOK OUT

if i'm correct, the gen coupe is gonna spread like wild fire. i think it's gonna be the "new civic" hopefully without the neon green paint and underbody neons. i have a feeling i would get it in a couple of years as a project car. scrap out the whole interior, roll cage, racing seats, aftermarket turbo + ecu tuning, pulleys, and whatnot. price of genesis + maybe 10 grand max will make the gen coupe into an even more of an amazing ride (id probably put quite a bit more into it, but for most people i think 10k in mods will suffice). its that honda civic mentality when you're driving say, a g37-s or evo or sti and that it flies by you and you think to yourself "wtf? did i just overpay 20 grand?"
i have a couple qualms with the design. but $ per performance, its all there. build quality, not so much.
3.8 track is actually VERY VERY difficult to find, if you are looking. (buddy just picked one up. had to drive 4 hours north of NYC to get an auto)
when it comes to the genesis, you really need to set your luxo radar aside b/c this car doesnt come close to comparing to its competitors

yeah i mean.... sure the company didnt have the best release of cars when they started out, but i think they have some winning designs. haha actually... hyundai doesnt even need to be a car company for hyundai to make money. they make billions from being one of the world's leading steel producers and well as barge and cargo ships. cars for them just adds the icing lol.

I think I need to go take a test drive.
