When was the last time your ins. went down?

Man oh man! So I get my 6-mos. premium auto renewal in the mail last week right? So I figure with everything else in the world going up, why wouldnt my auto insurance as well. With 2 in college, plus me and my spouse, you can imagine the premium we pay. Ive been hunting for new insurance for several months, and had decided to go with AAA, as they have quoted the most affordable. Triple A was going to save me about $1000 per year. So I though that terrific! All they wanted is about $1000 to get started...............uhhhhhhh, ok. Its what time of year? Winter.......detailing has been slow. Winter...........sales slow down. Winter...........comes Christmas, and 3 birthdays as well...........
Back to my current insurer. I open it up, states theres a reason you are receiving this information is your premium is up, and theres a $628.00 change in your 6 mos premium. So I figure this is nice, they finally realize my kids are 22 and 19...........lol
The difference was $628.00 less per 6 Mos!!! They even beat AAA! Im sooooooooooo stoked about this, finally something positive for a change! Wooot!
Now I can afford that Acura Ive always wanted!! (NOT)!!

Growing older and being responsible does come with some benefits, and low insurance premiums is one of those benefits. I just received the 6 month renewal notice and my insurance is down to $315/6 months, when the agent gave me the original quote(which was a touch higher) he joked by saying if I got married or bought a home they may pay to insure me!

first time my insurance went down when i turned 25....

then my insurance went down when i took renters insurance.....

now i pay like $450 for 6 months....and i have full coverage (25/50/10)....$500 deduct on collision and comprehensive.....full rental car coverage....roadside assistance.....i do have couple tickets on my record.....and yeah am with Geico....i started off with 782/ 6 months like 3 years back !!!!

but then again it depends on what state/city you live and also kids.....

if your kids are doing good in school and also dont have a messed up driving record ur insurance can be nice and low.....

Well all the best with the detailing products/business....it can be really slow in the winter.....but i bet you will overcompensate during the summer months.....LOVE SUMMER

That's encouraging, I'm planning on moving south very soon, more savings and lower cost of living would be fantastic!

I'm in Jersey and we get raped on car insurance here (along with everything else). I pay $1400/year for one car and I have one ticket, which costs me an extra $300/year for the surcharge. One year left on the surcharge, thank God.

I'll be moving to NY (Orange County) pretty soon. Wondering if my insurance will go up, down, or stay about the same.

Its good compared to me. I pay $1400 every 6 months for full coverage on the CL. My motorcycle on the other hand is $180 a year.

Ive got 4 suspensions on my record and 8 tickets, but only 3 stuck. Had I not padded my record with those "achievements" my insurance would have been $1400 for the year.

My insurance finally dropped A LOT in Oct when my 6 mos policy was up for renewal. An old accident finally dropped off and hell what a difference it made. And thank god, too, since the new car came at the same time.

When I switched insurance companies. It went down dramatically by about two thirds turning 25 with a clean record helped as well.

mine hasn't gone down in a while except for a short period when we dropped from 3 cars to 2. my income and assets have increased drastically in the last couple of years, therefore we needed much higher liability coverage. Also we keep buying more expensive vehicles.

Our insurance seems to get cheaper and cheaper each year. Not by a lot, but still... less is good!

We're paying $622.xx/year for 4 vehicles (3 autos, 1 motorcycle). Granted one of our vehicles is older and is liability only... but rest are newer. So I really can't complain much about our premiums...

So I shouldn't expect my premium to go down till I turn 25 or get married?! Sucks I was kinda hoping it would for my 19th next month cause of my spotless record and such.

My CL is 7 years old now, so the insurance has been going down every year for the past 3 years or so...
