I have a 2002 RL, ask whatever you'd like.

I also have a '97 TL, similar motor and identical transmission with nearly 190k. If its maintained, it'll run 200k miles with minimal extra cost.

Looks clean from those (few) pictures. The timing belt replaced is a huge deal at that mileage, so the fact it's replaced is a big plus.

If you ask me, though, Craigslist allows way too few pics, and teeny ones at that. Impossible to get detail.

thanks for the advice. my main worry was just that the miles were so high, but I guess that's not such a big deal if it has been properly maintained properly..

I'd rock it.

My old man has an 02 RL with 117k miles. He had it since new and isnt very gentle with it yet its rock solid. I have changed his brakes so many times though.

Which reminds me, i need to get the timing belt done on it.

Seems like a decent deal. The miles are up there but if it's properly maintained, shouldn't be a big deal. I have a 96 TL and I have 246K on it now.

The car looks clean. The high mileage should not be as much of any issue as some of the other quirks that go with the car. Some of the things you may want to check are

1)SRS light On: A Common problem with a sensor on passenger seat covered under extended warranty untill 150K miles. Check if this has been done already.

2)Window Motor: Those are know to fail pretty quick. Check to see if they operate or show signs of failure. Also check to see if those were replaced.

3)EGR issue: Although not as commonly seen on 02-04 as on the prior years, but a potential problem if low grade gas was used. Ask to see if the EGR pipe was ever cleaned or if EGR valve was changed.

4)Differential leak: Although the transmission on 1G RL doesn't have much issue reported, there are a few instances of the seal/gasket of the differential (separate from transmission) swelling up and leaking. This is typically due to the differential fluid not having been changed and getting too thin. It is a quite a costly repair to fix the seal, as the front right drive shaft needs to be removed to do the replacement.

This is all that I can think of right now, I will add more if I remember. Make sure to check these couple of things in addition to checking for regular wear and tear items for a 8yr/150K mile car, to ensure you do not get nickel and dimed with upkeep.
