what would you guys do with 25-30k?
what would you guys do with 25-30k?
hey fellas... i've been considering getting another car for some tiem now. i've sold my TSX and 330xi few months back and i've been intending to import a R34 GTR but due to lots of complications on importing it (and massive losses i've sustained in the market) that plan is not so viable. i want to have a second car, more like a sporty car that i can hook up and bring to the track with. something that handles well and also sprints well in the straightaway. my budget is about 25-30k. i've been considering:
350z
mid 90's NSX
'01 M3
S4
and some other cars... but those cars i guess i've been considering the most. my CL-S will be my daily driver and my 2nd car i guess would be more of a weekend and project car. what would you do? thanks

i was going to have a relative who owns an import/export business in asia import it into the u.s. for me... so i could've saved some money that way. but since i lost a bit of money in the market i thought it wouldn't be wise to spend so much on a 2nd car.
ws6 has a lot of potential... but i dont know, it doesnt do it for me. Evo/STi i think im going to stay away from as well (too many people i know have it for one thing) i want something that looks/feels a little exotic and classy. im going to test drive an NSX and if i can get one in good condition i'll probably go that way but im not sure... its expensive as hell to mod and its not a very practical car (no luggage space, etc). keep the suggestions coming

i can spend more than 30k... if i get M3 there arent much performance mods i wold need to get. if i get a Z i would spend about 7k modding it... i can probably get an 01 M3 for 35k or so
the corvette is def nice... but for some reason i would rather get an nsx

I'm in the same boat as you, 33-35k...and I'm looking at the M3, but afraid that I won't have much $$ to mod it, so I'm thinking a g35c 6mt and force a little air into it
but after test-drivig the m3, it is definately a hard decision, will be my daily driver.
Let us know what you go with!

i test drove several cars... including M3, M5, S4, G35c, 350z, IS300, and a cobra. cobra impressed me the most... when you go WOT its like a rocket taking off. but was a bit out of my price range (as well as the M5). IS300 was just plain shitty, i preferred the Z over the G35. The M3 and S4 impressed me very much, esp the S4's Quattro. M3 was the most comfortable cockpit of them all and i liked the way it cornered seamlessly.
i haven't test driven an NSX yet, will do so asap, probably after i get back from korea and japan.
evilone... definitely.. R32 GTR would be nice... but its still a lot of cash to import. and it'll be annoying to have it right hand side drive. can't go through drive throughs!
and damn, i can't register on nsxprime. it says my email is banned...?
why would my email be banned if i 've never even been to the site before?

NSX= turns heads and feels much faster than it actually is won't compare to the M3 on the track
M3= looks like a regular 3 series unless you know your cars; will make you smile off the line and on the track
Z= if your going to get a z get the 300zx its much sexier and still scoots; unless of course you can afford the greddy twinturbo setup for the 350
Corvette= come on now you need a mullet for that
S4=What year>? The new ones are sick but i like the previous generation better; downside is it looks like the family A4
I have driven all of the above vehicles excluding the corvette (due to lack of desire) for extended periods of time. As far as all out fun driving I like the idea of the NSX however the M3 was tons of fun at about 120 on the highway. All things considered i think the NSX wins followed by the M3 and in a close third the 300zx leaving the corvette and the 350 out of the race completely IMO. Let us know what you think.

yeat that too. you can pick one up used for a good price. There is actually a turbo kit available as well. Great suggestion.

supras are so blah now... not saying id turn one down, but when i was hunting it wasnt something that interested me.
i say NSX, out of the box its underpowered but it will get looks, and with a little trip to comptech would be plenty fast
find a good condition MR2 Turbo low cost and quite a looker if you do it right, Mid Engined 3SGTE motor has tons of potential great handleing. I dont know about you guys but MR2 Turbo's arent very frequent around these parts, great car, good looks, great handleing, turbo, and not so common what more could you ask for?
you can usually find Vipers from the early 90's for about mid to low 30g's... like this one

ultimate idea...
sell your house for a 2002 NSX Type-R and an R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II. Then, buy a huge dog house and live in that! It's a wonderful idea!
No but seriously, the GT-R would be the most exotic option, but the most costly. Parts for that thing would be crazy expensive. How about a used 911 or NSX? You get both awesome performance and the exotic look..
Oh and if you do go new, s2000 or 350z. A friend of mine traded in his 2004 350z for a 2005 s2000, which will be turboed. The s2000 is awesome on the track and I'm sure it'; move with a turbo upgrade (not that it doesn't already, just not as much as those Zs)
