Uhh there is not a comparison between a Z06 or Viper and a NSX. Compared to the Z06 or Viper the NSX performs like a Camry

Test drove an '04 NSX (Imola Orange Pearl) tonight. The only thing the NSX lacked as compare to my S/C'd CLS was power. A S/C would be a good cure for the NSX which would give it about 450-460 HP (~370 WHP). As far as handling, I believe the NSX has the upper hand as compared to the Z06 or Viper. Yes, OOB (out-of-box) the NSX can't compare to the two in terms of power, but the NSX is much more refined/well crafted.

... it only had 51 miles on it. I forgot to mention, I never got above 5k RPM, so I was never in the power band.

Also, the metallic orange color is nice, but I didn't like the orange interior. I'm looking for an '05 silver/black. So the search continues...

don't be sorry... that's your opinion and...

IMO - The NSX is no more outdated than the vette or viper... just because the NSX's body style hasn't changed much since the early 90's doesn't make it outdated. If it were just released as a new car today, it wouldn't be considered outdated. The only thing were it would lack is its power. Handling, balance, refinement and workmanship is far superior to that of the vette or viper.

I personally find the vette and viper very uninspiring - boring if you may and a bit cheesy/cheaply put together.

But is all comes do to personal tastes and what appeals to you.

Now this is a serious looking motor - hand-built and blue-printed...

Here's how a car should be made... hand rolled body panels...

I stand corrected... 05 NSX-T headlights low/high beams - Both HID? No, the high beam is a standard 9005 halogen bulb.

Just always curious about the two projector beams in each headlight cluster since the refresh. Nice to see that they're both xenons (like in the Maserati Quattroporte), whether they're bi-xenons doesn't really matter.

I just couldn't refuse... this thread was partly responsible for me moving ahead a little fast than my original plans... kind of pushing me a little fast in the direction of acquisition.

You got me there... guilty...

I've been in a few vettes but never a viper. I've only been up close to a couple of vipers. I've also been in a few NSX and seen a lot up close. So my decision wasn't exactly objective nor completely unbiased. For me, it was the total package with refinement, quality and performance as the main ingredients in my decision; with a bit of pre-existing passion for the NSX. If I wanted all out power and speed, I wouldn't have gone with the NSX. But after a SC is installed, that will be mostly satisfied.

3 other cars to think about:
the first car i'd go after is the next generation M3: Yes it's kind of sport coupe(with a tiny back seat) but i'd go with a Dinan S2 M3.which you should(for 05) put down about 375 hp.
the second car I'd go after if I had that kind of cash would be a BMW Z4
but on a scale of 1-10 i'd give it a 9.5. then i'd put a bunch of Dinan tuning stuff on it (cams, exhaust,
SLK 55 AMG. I haven't drove the new styled one but the whole convertible hard top is cool. the styling on a scale of 1-10 i'd give it a 7. I can live with it but I don't like the giant Benz symbol in the center of the grill.

I just found this thread.....so sorry for the slow reply. Asking the question of NSx or Viper on here is kind of tough since only about 5% of the people on here have experience behind the wheel of either car, and even fewer have driven both. Overall these cars are nothing alike (yes, I have driven both... a lot).

Viper= TONS OF POWER!! If you want to rip a tree stump out of the ground or just plain roast some tires, buy this car. The Viper is a huge amount of power, and takes a very trained show to drive it well, but it can be done. The Viper is the automotive equivalent of a sledgehammer for the road....and that is not always a bad thing. It can be annoying to drive every day though.

NSX= Less power, but still fun. More balanced than the Viper and better built. The NSX is a great car to drive every day. It does not beat you up, but if you are looking for raw power you may want to look at the Viper or Z06 instead. The NSX is a refined exotic, not a brute.

Either way, you are going to drive something bad ass. Pick your weapon carefully.
