the new brakes are awesome-but that is just because Dodge got together with Brembo to design them. They should have gotten together earlier though.

Didn't the first Viper have no anti-lock system or something like that? I'm pretty sure that's why the brakes were so "bad".

NSX... if you know anything about how the engine is made and it's potential, you see it's probably one of the finest production engines built these days.

other than being loyal to acura what is the point of getting an NSX?

When you can have a Z06, new viper, carrera, all of which are faster and more bang for your buck

HSC you mean, and that's been axed also.

Personally, hints of 300+ HP, despite coming from a V6, was just not going to cut it. I'm glad it's not going to get produced.

Yes and no. From 1992 to 2000, there was no ABS. But, in 2001, they introduced ABS. However, that did nothing to improve the brakes-they are just not ment to stop that heavy car when it is going 160 (not like I would have any experience with that though !)

Viper by far. The NSX is way too outdated these days and even 10 years ago I wasn't crazy about it to begin with. I've always been attached to the Viper for some reason, and I love the SRT-10 with a passion. The Viper isn't a Viper without the racing stripes though.

That's right around what an SRT-10 Viper puts down stock on a good run.

I love the NSX. I dont care how old or played out it is. everytime i see one on the road i drool over it. the Viper doesnt appeal to me at all. I give 2 more headturns to the NSX over the viper. Just like you said, something about it makes me like it alot. Just so low to the ground and smooth driving down the road.

I can get the ATI Procharger for my Z and put down similar #'s, or I could go the Greddy TT route and put down even more.

At the time, the NSX engine was nice, but it's far outclassed these days. The reason why the NSX still performs well is it's mid-engine design and light aluminum construction. The engine is nothing special any longer though.

Let's see a SC'ed Viper to make it apples to apples... Definitely put out well more than 450whp

Cool Ayrton senna helped make the NSX

if NSX is good enough for SENNA it is good enough for rest of us...

and if u think the things havent much changed in 12 years since this car was launched it can pretty well leave 90% of the cars on the road today...

u can drive the nsx to a track and drive it back home... without any problem.

viper cannot simply compete with nsx....

and if u buy viper half the time u would be either refuelling it or it will be sitting in garage getting repaired...

but nsx is meant to be driven.... meant for everyday use... so it means it is reliable...

but if u want a car that looks good sitting in the garage NSX does that pretty well too...

My buddies and I we're discussing the NSX vs VIPER, my friend who owns a viper (ill post pics later) doesn't understand why anyone would by the NSX!

I have two other buddies with NSX's (maybe three, but I don't really like him enuf to call him a buddy) claim they like theirs for the track.

or
Interesting question Jerky. But I think this comparison/debate lends itself more towards an import vs domestic argument. As such, I know people who'd much rather buy an 05 Pontiac Bonneville GXP instead of an 05 Acura TL w/Navi. (I cant make sense of something like that but they just have a totally different perspective.)

That said, I like the Viper's performance and know it would tear an NSX apart in a race. However, I'd take the NSX over the Viper any day.

Look how freakin menacing that Viper looks!! Damn; only if it was as refined as an NSX; I would take it. I would take neither! My choice will go towards a Porsche GT3; fast as a Viper and as refined/balanced as an NSX!
