If you had to sell an '08 ACURA T.L.-base,(nbp-beige int)13,000 miles, only full-synthetic oil etc. great shape, waxed and detailed often, and purchase something domestic,ie (BIG 3), what would you consider in the same price range.
I figure my T.L. is worth around $27.000.

Likely a Mustang GT, although my kids thought the prior model's exhaust was too noisy. The Camaro and Challenger are in the same price ballpark, but I prefer smaller cars.
Perhaps the Ford Fusion based on good reviews and specs, but I've never been in one. The CTS and G8 GT are more upscale choices, but the interiors are so-so to me. There were ridiculous discounts on the STS, bringing it into the TL range several months ago.

If I were you I'd probably keep the TL-S.
Oh, and in this market, your car is definitely not worth $27k. Go to KBB, take the Private Party value and subtract about $3k-$4k. That's likely more realistic as to what you would sell it for... if you can find a buyer.

In this market, be happy with your car. People aren't buying anything right now.

sounds like you took pretty good care of your car and that you like it. Why get rid of it? And when you say, "in the same price range" to you mean 24-27 grand or the price of a new 2008 TL, which is ~35 no?
How about Buick Lacrosse? If you can go smaller, Camaro.
If you don't care about trade in value, Pontiac or Chysler products.
Matter of fact, perhaps you should only look at Ford products.
I would try like heck to keep the TL.

Thanks so much for all your advice. I also realize now my '08 T.L. isn't worth as much as I thought, and 25'ish sounds about right.
I know it doesn't make sense to deal it after only 7 or 8 months of having the vehicle, but I'm getting a little grief from some union boys about driving an import. (They don't care it was built in Ohio) .
In this Big 3 auto town, my Acura is seen as the enemy and the reason for their current troubles.
I don't plan to change vehicles just yet, since it doesn't make sense from a money viewpoint. I do appreciate everyone's opinions however.
I also do take very good care of this T.L.
Thanks .

I think the reason behind getting rid of it would make me more proud to drive it. People would love to blame their problems on others, but realistically...if it's a better product...they should step their game up, not give you a hard time about driving it.
If I HAD to get a domestic...challenger all the way.

The issue isn't you and your Acura, the issue is your buddies Union. You changing your car isn't going to help the Big 3 crisis, if the Union would change their attitude that might change things. Until then, they'll continue to lose future car manufacturing to non-union states.
Sorry, I'm not a union fan. They served a purpose before about 1970. If unions are so great, why do union states have pay companies to stay vs. southern non-union states who are gaining assembly plants left and right.
Back to your question, I like the new camaro, the mustang is nice, the G8 is nice, but I'd have to say a CTS.

Your union "buddies" sound like a great group; they want to you take a financial bath so that they can feel better about themselves. Considering the large amount the car has already depreciated, trading it in now is a terrible financial decision. You will likely have trade the car in and then pay out of pocket for a car that is inferior to your TL.
Oh, and if they want to know one of the major reasons for their current troubles, they should take a look in the mirror.

Without a doubt the best part of being an Acura owner, is this site. I love the passion you people have for your cars, and your great advice on caring for them.
I do plan to hold on to my T.L. as it is an easy vehicle to live with, and having it for only 7 months I'm enjoying it more each day.
Plus as I've said, dealing cars after 7 or 8 months isn't a winning game. Most of the cars I'm attracted to are non-Big 3, Acura, Lexus, Infinity, Nissan, Audi.etc.
Quality, reliability and resale value is very important and my T.L. passes the test with ease.
Thanks again for everyone's advice. It's the people on this site that make it great.
This is a big union town however, and the jobs are dissapearing fast as the Big 3 struggles, so driving an import, even though it's made in Marysville is not a popular choice.
