what should i do with my car?
what should i do with my car?
i'm thinking of purchasing a s2000. i currently own a 2001 cl-p and paid off in full.
i don't know if i should trade it in, attempt to sell it, or keep it and buy a s2000.
considering how the cl is not a particularly hot car and will probably be incredibly hard to sell (dents and 91k but mechanically great... for now), i don't think i can sell it. I have found several cl-s with similar mileage going for 7k and cosmetically better condition so the selling market isn't so hot. the trade in for the car will probably be 5-6k (according to kbb). and, i fear for the life of my transmission.
if i keep and the tranny fails in the future, the cost to fix would be approx. 1/3 the cost of the car and would probably even be harder to sell down the road, maybe, never sell. however, i don't want to get raped on trade in. on the other hand, it could potentially be a good daily driver if the transmission never fails.
what to do?!?!

Try to sell it. You have nothing to loose. Obviously, if you can handle the insurance on the two vehicles then keep the CL as a daily driver. I don't think the s2000 lends itself to that very well.
I say keep the CL-P and buy the S2000 if you can handle all the bills. Just imagine both of them on the driveway. You already did some mods on the CL-P, it's like a piece of art. You spent time and money working on it. Once you get the S2000 you won't be driving the CL-P as much as you would have. So ya keep the CL-P, that's what I would do.
