Looking for a new car
Looking for a new car
So my 04 TL is fully paid off and I'm been looking into to buy a new car for sometime. The car that I have lean towards to is the 08 Infiniti G35 sedan. If so the car is going to be black on black with the premium package that includes sunroof and the bose system etc. No need to spend the $2,000+ for navi since I could use the stock screen and spend $200-300 on Garmin GVN 520 black box for Navi.
So yesterday went to Motor Werks Infiniti in Barrington. I looked at the G35 Journey and G35x AWD, but can't decide between the RWD and AWD. Anyways, I talked to one of the sale guys for a while. As we were talking I gave an amount on a down payment. For 48 months and a APR of 3.2% my monthly payments for the G35 Journey RWD with premium package would be $578.13 a month. On to the G35X AWD also with the premium package monthly payments would be $619.24. Plus I have an Uncle that purchased many cars at Motor Werks and can get a good price on the car with his help.
G35 Journey RWD
- $37,865
- Monthly $578.13
G35x AWD
- $36,015
- Monthly $619.24
What are your guys thought on the 08 G35?

er, I think motorwerks is pulling a fast one on you.
Infiniti is offering 1.9% for 60 months on 08 G35s... even on their certified models.
Also figure out what invoice pricing is on the model you want. Dealers are giving them for almost 1k UNDER invoice now.

I didn't even know about the 1.9 for 60 months nor I even asked about any special financing offers there giving. Well Motor Werks is not the only infiniti dealer I'm going to be checking out. There's many more dealers to see.

enjoy no payments for now, perhaps invest in something with the money saved and wait a little because the G37 (Sedan) is coming, you might regret not waiting...

This weekend is of course the big Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterey, California, and a number of automakers will be on hand to debut vehicles there. Infiniti is one of them and will be showing off a few new models on the greens of Pebble Beach, one of which is this, the G37S. What you see is not much different than the G35 on sale now, save for a few exterior tweaks including new wheels. What is different is that Infiniti's G sedan will get the same mechanical hardware found in the G37 Coupe. That means the superlative VQ-series 3.7L V6 producing 328 horsepower will be standard equipment, which necessitates the change in nomenclature for the 2009 model year from G35 to G37. Transmissions will include a 6-speed manual or Infiniti's new 7-speed automatic, and the brand is also offering a new optional brake package that adds 4-piston front/2-piston rear brakes and larger rotors. Those wheels are the new 18-inch wheel design with standard Scratch Shield self-healing paint. Infiniti will show more this weekend than just the G37S, including the G37 convertible and G37x, and we already have bloggers in place on the back nine to report it all.

don't get me wrong i like the G35 HOWEVER if i was to something in the "3 series class" range:
if you don't mind a automatic:
choice #1. Benz C350. in my honest thoughts, this is one of the most overlooked ,underrated, "3 series fighters" in the class. Benz did an AWESOME job on the new C class redesign this last time.
if you gotta have an auto or don't mind having an auto. if they'd offer this in a stick it would be perfect.
if you gotta have a stick.
#2. BMW 335.
the twin turbo setup on this guy pretty smooth. and the 3 series sets the standard in this class.

Don't be in a rush to get something new. How about this: Take the amount of your approximate monthly payment (about $500) and throw that in a savings account for a few years. Here's the benefit:
1. You'll have a cash reserve if the TL has a big time problem.
2. You'll have some nice down payment money when the G37x is available.
3. And if nothing else, you could always use it for a place to live.
Not having a car payment is nice.......

However,I invested on property. Closed a deal on a condo in Vancouver with 2 of my cousins back in May who live there. The condo is 517 Sq. Ft. Which is on the corner of Richards and Nelson .Cousins posted the condo for rent on Craigslist within the next few days there were couple of people who were interested and one was the renter from Alberta. The renter just moved in a week ago and she's from Alberta. Paying 1600 a month. She's renting the place for about a year cause she's attending culinary school in Vancouver or however long she rent the place.
There are so many places in Vancouver were condo's and houses are being built, bought, and rented out to help pay for the mortgage. One of my uncle has international students living in his house and there's 4 of them. With the money he's getting for having the students live in his house he uses the money to write of things. With those students living in the house he uses the money to pay his payments on his X5. Within the next 4-6 yrs I plan to move to Vancouver.
Just wait a couple of years. THe new g37(g35) is coming out. 340hp, new design. And it feels good not having any payments. Yes the g37 already came out but they only have 2dr coupes. But in 2009 the 4door g37 is coming out.
You said it ALL, brotha. I'm trying to get there right now! Especially when you're young and the car is paid off....why saddle yourself with payments till your're 27, only to start over again? Save an amount equal to your TL payment while driving the paid for car. After a while you'll have the cash to buy whatever car you want with cash, and no interest! Plus, if you still like the TL, then at lwast you're sitting on a nice pile that can be used for something else: retirement, a house, mods to freshen up the TL, an emergency fund!
I'm learning, but there's more to life than car payments; especially $600+ carpayments!

I would be even scared to recommend a G35x / RWD in general based upon my experience in that car (rattles, brake feel, fuel economy compared to my G37 ... well, what the onboard computer said). It was really that bad.

Summary: Keep your TL. Wait for what's out there in the near future. Can't you wait 3 months?
Wait. I had an '08 G35x sedan as a loaner car ... it felt like it has gone through hell and back. It didn't seem to 'hold up' compared to other demo cars I've had (Infiniti, Acura, Honda, etc). Maybe I've always received a salesman's personal 'demo' car in the past ... but G35x I had a couple weeks ago was totally blah.
