Got a handful of legit interested buyers on CarGurus. Was listed for 2 or 3-days. CL was OK, but so many scammers and low-ballers.

The legit interests? Yes, all local .... or regional. There was one person from the Asheville area, which is a couple of hours away.

How much was the listing fee for CarGurus?

 

$25 total. I think $20 for the listing and $5 to make it a ‘premium’ listing closer to the top of the search results …. Could have been the way ‘round, don’t recall for sure.

 

Wow. That is a LOT better than I expected....for a website that overwhelmingly caters to dealers, this seems like a pleasant surprise.

 

So, their internal contact system for sellers actually DOES work??
I've contacted several private buyers on CarGurus and NEVER heard back from any of them.
Dealers, sure.

 

It absolutely does work. I got a text and an email notification that 'so and so is interested in your vehicle', or 'BillyBob would like to arrange a test drive'. I responded to those and I think everyone one of them was a 'live' prospect.
