What Luxury Cars Top Your List?

What's your criteria when you shop for a car? The reliability? The price? The brand name? If you pick the brand name, then it's likely that you like luxury cars. Since when do Hyundai owners decide that they must have a Hyundai to impress others?

You probably know by now that I drive a Hybrid car. I actually traded in an Audi TT for a Toyota Prius and believe me, that was a sad day! The little TT was fun, but it was impractical. Well, that was my intention when I got the TT: to get a fun, impractical sports car :-) I must be more mature or something, since now I think that driving a 4-door sedan is better than driving a cute little sports car. But once in a while, I sigh and think about my little TT.

Whatever reasons you have in selecting a car, I'm sure at one point in your life you've looked at luxury cars. Either for serious research or just for fun. So for all you luxury car fans (owners or not), what car brands top your list?

This week's top searched luxury cars on AOL Search:
1) BMW
2) Lexus
3) Audi
4) Cadillac
5) Mercedes-Benz
6) Acura
7) Porsche
8) Jaguar
9) Lamborghini
10) Infiniti

High quality luxury sedan: Lexus LS.
Sports/luxury sedan: E60 BMW M5 (after driving the 545i and 550i, over the M5)
Luxury coupe: Aston Martin Vantage
Luxury wagon: MB E63 AMG
Luxury SUV: BMW X5 4.8 (E70)
Convertible Luxury: BMW M6
Compact Luxury sedan: Audi RS4 (although this is probably more sport than less luxury--if pushed towards luxury then I would go with the IS350)

For me personally, I will most likely never own another car made by anyone other than Honda. If I could have a TL or RL, I would shit.

Honestly I like the way the japanese execute luxury vehicles, I mean perhaps its cuz I dont make enough to even consider a BMW, MB, Audi but I truly enjoy the styling and execution of japanese lux vehicles. I also like the higher level of build quality that is normally the case in Jap lux cars.

Since we are all typing in dream cars now "allow me to retort" (c) Samuel Jackson

If money was no object my garage would look something like this
Rolls Royce Phantom
Bugatti Veyron
Lamborghini Murcielago
Range Rover HSE Sport
Hummer H1
Mercedes/McLaren SLR Convertible

yeah, i bought my rl straight up but for the next ride i may lease since i like changing cars every 3 years or so. if i lease i'd be less inclined to mod and would prolly just keep everything stock or else upgrade with manufacturer parts only. i love the gtr and have been salivating over it since i saw the first prototypes but when faced with the proposition of dropping 75 large for a nissan i have some trepidation. for the "brand whore" in me i wish they had infiniti-badged it but i understand the importance for true-tuners of keeping it a nissan. i heard my local nissan dealership is taking 10K deposits for the gtr but that may just be a rumour.

i think the s5 being a totally new model would be tight and the pics in C&D and at the NY autoshow were hawt! especially with a pearl white exterior and oxblood red interior with the s5 stitching. m3s are pretty ubiquitous around where i live. although v8 power and 420 hp is nothing to scoff at.

As expensive as they are, I am seeing a ton of the new MB S-Classes. Seen only a few of the new Lexus LS's.

Personally I would love an Audi A8, beautiful inside and outside. The S-Class would be a close second in the large luxury category.

Midsize:
-BMW 5-Series. especially now with the turbocharged engine
-the Acura RL would've been my top pick if it weren't for its so-so performance. Sad to say it, but the GS runs circles around it AND gets better gas mileage. The BMW leaves it in the dust.

Entry level would go to the BMW 3-Series. Again, that turbocharged engine

Oof...another of these threads.

Luxury cars...? Well, if luxury is the keyword, no offense to some of the responses but, a car like a Carrera GT is not a luxury car.

Luxury cars are: Bentleys, Rolls-Royces, Aston Martins, Mercedes-Benz (and Maybach), and Jaguars. And yeah, those would be in my top list for "luxury".

If price was no object?

I'd take the 730hp Mercedes CLS Brabus Rocket, with top speed of over 225mph. And I can still get a car seat in it.
