what car should i take to school?

SPring break is already ending for me and you know what that means. I gotta go back up to school in northern california! I live in socal, so it's a long drive and prolly won't be back home for a while. Anyways.... I can't take my TSX back up cuz it's "TOO NICE!" SO, i have two choices. Either an 03 Altima 2.5S or an 01 Lincoln Town Car. Which would would you choose?

Towncar: PROS are big size, V8 engine, luxurious, comfortable, leather seats, PIIIMP.
CONS: Slow, can't go fast, and slow again.

Altima: PROS are faster, easier to drive, still spacious, has cat back exhaust, sportier style, tint, and more fun to drive.

Assholes keyed my car, left trash on my car, sat on my car. I wish I had a beater. Take the lesser valued car to school. You'll thank me later.

Where do you go to school? I took both my Mustang and TL to college and didn't have any problems with either. Had one person back into my front bumper and another run into the rear bumper, but that would have happened to any car.

Jeez is college that bad on cars? I was thinking about getting myself a used TSX or something in that ballpark, but from reading around it sounds like you should drive a beater to college or something you don't care about.

Oh and of the two choices you listed, i'd choose the Altima! Town car seems kinda wierd for a college kid to be driving dont ya think?

I go to school in Stockton, a freaking ghetto area. Whatever car you take, there will be damage. My TSX already got keyed at a party at school. So, don't want that to happen again.

I guess... Town car is more of an old man's car. It would be pretty damn weird driving it around school. I just wanna see how my friends would react. Plus it's a safe car. The thing is built like a tank. Safety isn't an issue for me though. I'm a great driver. haha.

People do drive pretty nice cars at my school. There are g35s, TLs, a whole bunch of 350Z's, one TSX, some lexus's. The rest are camry's and accords.

take any car you want. if it gets keyed (like mine did), don't worry about it, that's what insurance is for. do what you feel comfortable with.

i took a week old cls to school in ohio from san francisco. i drove it back and fouth a few times. i had no regrets.

+1 on the second half.

My car hasn't been purposely abused, but it's been backed into and side-swiped. College kids suck at parking and getting out, if you have a cheap beater, bring it.

I wasn't feeling too well (migraine) so I took a nap in my car one day. This girl parked next to me and opened her door wide and smacked my car a good one. I kind of stirred awake and you could tell she thought "oh shit." She quickly got back into her SUV and left the space.

So yeah. There's plenty of assholes at college that don't care for other people's property.

Will your friends make you drive a lot if you have the biggest car?

Keep that in mind

Hey I went to UCR too! Graduated last June.

Anyways, I drove a Camry throughout college. I agree, a lot of kids aren't very careful driving and I collected over $1k in insurance money from kids backing into my car or trying to park next to me. Even when driving back to my parents on the weekends, I had a large wooden board slam into the hood, and a flying tire smashed the grill. Now my Camry looks old and beat up, and it's just an 01.

As soon as I graduated and found a job, I got the 07 TL-S

The Altima would use less gas and be easier to park, but those may not be concerns if you live in a dorm and only drive off campus during weekends like I did. I lived in a dorm at college and used a car cover-- never had a scratch on the car in those 4 years.

Damn thats messed up. Nothing has happened to my tl at college at all. Except for stupid parking tickets. If your cars get keyed and what not take the Altima. Less likely to get keyed. Plus Lincoln town car that will rape you on gas and reliability.

that's what i'm wondering. I never had a problem, but then again I parked with some smarts. I didn't go to a big money school or anything, but there were definately a SHIT load of real nice cars (tons of BMW's, Benz's, even saw 2 different lambos that were there daily). None got fucked with

Your 21 and have 3 cars? I find that a bit strange. Anyways, take the Altima personally. It gets good gas mileage, and if something happens to it, it will be cheaper to fix anyways. Leave the miles off the TSX.

All kinds of crap happened to cars where I went to school (URI). I once saw an SUV sitting on the pavement with no wheels. Some asshole just stole them right off the vehicle. People would smash windshields periodically, as well.

a lot of limo driver drive town cars around here. So if you drove that they might think you're a chaffeur or limo driver mistakenly.

How is that any different to what normally happens to a car parked in a city? Hell, its probably safer to park a car in a college lot than it is on the sidewalk downtown.
