What car to get - Part II
What car to get - Part II
I am almost 100% decided on a car.....You'll probably be thinking
by the time you finish reading this....A Scion xB. To tell you the truth, I was a little partial about it...Until I drove one. I got one for a customer of mine a while back. At first I thought "what a piece of shit", but I ended up having the car for like a month at the time. The more I drove it, the more I loved it. For a small car, it's pretty damn roomy! It's somewhat fun to drive, it's eyecatching(I plan to put some form of my company advertising on it) and it should get the job done with relative ease. It is a bit short on power, but who cares....I'm not sure what color I'm going to get, and if it's going to be manual or automatic, but i did decide that I'd prefer the manual, to squeeze all 108 hp out of the car. I'll be financing this bad boy instead of leasing, the difference in payments is very minimal between the two, which makes the finance more attractive. I might end up preferring this limited edition released xB (Can be seen here...Click ) If I can get my hands on one. If I do end up getting it, mods would be very limited, I don't want to look like a ricer. I'd probably get the rear spoiler, a set of 16" or 17" wheels ( to replace the 15" wheelcovers), and MAYBE lower the car, and call it a day. I'm going to see what my Scion contacts have to decide for sure.....Flame away!

I spoke to my Scion rep, he's on the lookout for me on the RS 2.0. He had one incoming but it was sold, and it was in automatic. He's looking for a manual car for me, but I spoke to the business partner and he's trying to convince me to get it in automatic because he doesn't know how to drive stick very well, I told him i'll teach him, not to worry...If I can't get the RS 2.0, I'll have to stick to a regular one I guess...My

For the price it's a good value and has nice utility. Probably the roomiest and highest quality at its price range. For that money and given your needs if you wanted something else go used.

So much in fact if gas prices keep going up, I will get a Mazdaspeed 6 instead of a GTO in the fall.

I LOVE THE xB!!!
I was once seriously considering trading in the CLS for an xB to save on gas and mileage...but decided to wait instead and eventually get the xB as a commuter car + 1 sports car.

If you aren't planning to go mod-crazy, then get the limited edition one.
Personally, I'd get a black one, and do the whole black thing (smoked lights, black housings, etc)
Umm..That thing is slow as hell but if you are going to use it for advertising purposes that's cool because it doesn't go that fast and will give people time to write down the number on your advertisement..
i feel you, i like xB's, always have. my people think i'm nuts but i'd get one in a heartbeat. it'll need FI to get out of it's own way a lil faster but that's comin down the line...good luck with it

It's not sooooo bad....Other thing is I'm planning to use it for advertising purposes, so I want a standout color....

I will be changing wheel covers to 16 or 17 inch wheels...

Done....I sent in my application to the other guy who has the manual coming in three weeks. The car's going to come out of a dealer in PA, one of my regular fleet dealers. Only thing we're not sure about yet is the APR for financing. Scion/Toyota Credit has 4.85% for tier 1+ (730 score or higher). There are probably other banks that have rates a little less, but I don't expect to get it under 4%. One thing I wasn't sure about was my credit...I thought it was in the 730-750 range, which I told him, he called me back a little while after and asked me how I knew my score, I said I wasn't sure, but I knew it was 7-something. He tells me that I'm a 787, I'm like
damn that's crazy! Of all the applications I've sent in for my customers, I have never seen a score that high with any of them, in the meantime I have it....crazy shit man....
So I'll be zooming in my banana box soon enough...
