Impressive numbers. I would probably want a roll cage with times and speed like that.

That's a pretty sick 60' there. I am suprised your rear end is still intact. My friend has the same car, but it's a nitrous engine. He ran 11.0 and is going to be deep into the 10s this year.

It depends on the cam and how much boost you are running. A good tuner goes a long way as well.

A reverse split cam and a blower are great for each other. with the stock cam and a procharger d1sc, a stock LS1 can hit close to 600whp. Throw in a stroker, and top end build up and oh my.

Lets see:
Volant Intake-$225
-Pacesetter Long Tube Headers-$350
-Texas speed Off Road Y-pipe-$150
-Texas speed rumbler cat back with Borla XR-1 muffler-$250
-TR224/224 baby cam came with comp 918 springs, chromoly pushrods and titanium retainers-$750
-Tune-$300
-Fuddle 3400 2.2str Stall converter-$400
-Sub Frame Connectors-$200
-Nitto 555-$300
Did all thw work with a buddy in his garage expect for the stall which cost $400
About $3500 and my car cost abou $8500. Shit, i have a $12000 car that runs 11's all motor. Another $2500 for heads, new cam and fuel upgrades, and another $2000 for a 12 bolt and i'll be good to go. Minus the $500 i can get for selling my cam.

Dont be a guinea pig, go with what works. I have seen too many guys testing blowers or buying cheap Powerdyne units and blowing their motors. Your motor is new and expensive, dont kill it. If you slap some headers, exhaust, intake and a nice medium sized 228/228 cam, you will need to surgically remove the smile from your face. Trust me.

This is stretching my memory quite a bit, but IIRC anything under 12 seconds is required to have a roll cage at NHRA sanctioned tracks.

I have to start looking into the rules because i've been black listed.
Worse case, i will have to drive to PA to a privately owned 1/8th mi. track and pull some numbers there. I really dont want a roll cage. My fat ass has a hard time getting in and out of cars with them.

A rear cage w/ connecting points over your head to the front will satisfy till you get much quicker

Do a turbo! If it wasn't 7-9 grand, I'd have done it already....just for the sound of the blow off valve!

My friend has an 02 single turbo that's making over 600 horses to the wheels. It's a custom turbo that cost him around 4 grand to put together, but it's now one of the most sought after kits for the f bods. The vette doctors made it and are now producing it.
