Went to the dealer to look at a spoiler for the car and they had a new SLK350 there. The salesman "talked" me into a test drive about 5 min after arriving so we left. First off, this car is an absolute rocket. At 268hp, it feels damn close to the 349 in my C32. It really pisses me off that this sounds better too. The handling is absolutely phenominal. The new SLK feels like a BMW in how balanced it is. It did have the sports package which might have made it feel a little bit better than the normal edition.

The interior is much better than the previous model. It really feels like a baby SL. Alot of leather and when plastics are used, they used some pretty high quality stuff. At 6'0, I had no problem with the roof, which was a problem in the old model. I would never get this option, but the airscarf is awesome. It was weird at first, but you could drive in 30 degree weather and feel warm or drive in 100 heat (like today) and feel cool.

Overall I thought MB did as good a job with this redesign as the SL 2 years ago. The only negative about this particular car is the price. $54,*** is a little steep for this. I would have a hard time buying this over a C6. Now, if this had been the SLK55 for that price, I honestly believe I would be driving a convertible right now instead of a sedan.

 

Airscarf?

 

Vents in the headrest that blow out either hot or cold air. Its design is to raise or lower the bodys temp when the top is down. Basically you can ride with the top down in Detroit in January and feel like your sitting on a beach in Cancun. I actually got pretty damn cool in only 2-3 minutes today when it was about 90 something.
