Well, my brother-in-law and I finally finished the install today. He's finally done with school and was able to lend me the extra set of hands I needed. Damn was it tiring. Ran into a few minor hiccups but got through them and finished the install and took it for a test drive.

The car feels like the front is severly lifting off the ground as if I'm losing traction. It could be the car needs and alignment or that the tires need to be worn in a little or both.

There is one major issue, or at least I think it is. My brother-in-law wasn't as worried as I am. Basically the entire left side of the car is sitting lower than the right side. There is an extra finger gap between teh tire and fenderwell on the right than the left. My brother-in-law says the springs shocks need to settle some and it may correct itself. Is there something else that you guys can think of that could be causing this problem? I'm gonna make an appt for this friday to get the car aligned, so we'll see how much that improves these issues.

17's. Even at 17" they look small because of the length of the spokes. But I'm happy with the way they look, and for a 17" wheel they are pretty light.

Very nice. I would wait for the springs to settle before you get an alignment. It may take a week or two until they settle, after which your car should be slightly lower.

Damnit! Just noticed the lip on my rim is fuxored (just a small about, maybe slightly larger than quarter inch) and a chunk of tire is missing where the scuff occured.

I don't remember ever hitting anything.

The rims have only been on for a month and already a bad scuff.

Whereas my wife, not that she doesn't care, brushes it off, knowing that it can be fixed or remedied. I get pissed because it shouldnt' have happened in the first place.

In this case, I can't blame the wifey. I haven't taught her how to drive stick [yet].

Thought I'd give an update as to what's going on with the Teg. Here's a post I just made over at team-integra.net...

(Bold text are links)

Hey guys,

I know I don't know very many of you, haven't even met anyone yet but I thought I'd share the little progress and pitfalls I've come across since picking up my 2nd teg at the start of last year.

Well since having the 105K Service done I had my clutch replaced and went with the Type-R flywheel. In addition I had my brake lines and clutch lines replaced with a SS set. I should have held off on the brake lines and done them later but oh well.

Shortly after that I had an incident on the freeway with a 4" x 4", 5' long piece of lumbar laying in the middle of the freeway. You could say I was very pissed at that, and the idiot driver in front of me, and at myself.

Out of that incident I upgraded my suspension with a set of Koni Yellows (neuspeed version) and Neuspeed sport springs and replaced the shock bushings with polyurethane bushings. In addition, I had to replace my wheels and tires so I went with a set of 17" Enkei RPF1s wrapped with Yokohama S.Drive 205/40 tires.

After all of this, I had an alignment done and naturally both front wheels and the right rear had serious camber issues, but I didn't want to do the camber kit just yet. So i held off on that.

Fast forward a few months to October and big problems start. one day on my way home I downshifted, hit 5K and my engine cut and the check engine light lit up. UH OH! I get home, read the code, and it was something with the VTEC solenoid. Did a little more research, checked my oil level and I was down 2qts! What scared me was that I just had an oil change 1K miles ago!!! Took it into the shop, and sure enough the motor needed to be rebuilt. One month later (November), I get my car back and am completely stoked! Driving like a dream now!

I just got my first oil change done this past week after having the motor rebuilt. Using Motul 8100 motor oil. Also had a brake service done for the front and rear. Went with Brembo Blanks, Hawk HPS Brake pads, and Motul RBF600 brake fluid. Purchased an ingalls camber kit for the front and rear (polyurethane version) and had that installed along with new trailing arm bushings and an alignment. Now that the alignment is correct, the car is sitting much more level. The left side isn't sitting drastically lower than the right as before. There is about a one finger gap between the tire and fender with the driver side a hair lower.

I thought the car was running great after the motor rebuild, it's running even better now (or at least it feels that way to me). It pulls great, and the steering and engine response is noticeably better. The camber kit makes a bit of a noise, but it doesn't bother me. My last integra did the same and i got used to it.

Next up:
Polyurethane motor mount inserts.
Install '97 model style amber taillights
Remove old tint
Install Enkei Wheel lugs
Full Detail
I want to start tackling doing some bolt-on engine mods but I'm saving up my money and will decide later this year if I'm gonna dump more mods into my Integra or my Avant. I'm leaning more towards the Avant but we'll see.

Anyway, that's all, thanks for reading and I'll try to post up some new pics soon.

Yea tell me about it! I love the visibility in my teg, but perhaps the wide rear view mirror I added is the reason.

Also, regarding the motor rebuild, I went a slightly expensive route. I ended up ordering a brand new block straight from Japan. in fact, it was the very last one in the world from what the service guys told me. They had a hard time locating it. I wanted to do this because guess what, now I have a b18 block sitting in my garage that I can get redone, and build up a nice race motor over the next few years (I HOPE) and drop into the car when it does give and turn it into a nice track car. It should be a nice learning experience since I don't know anything about building motors.

Oh and one more thing, I'm kinda regretting getting the 17" Enkei's. I'm thinking about selling them, and getting the 15" version since each 15" wheel is 5lbs lighter than the 17". Not that the 17" wheel is that heavy, it comes in at 14.6 lbs which is damn light for a 17" wheel. I gotta give it some serious thought though (again).

Thanks for the update. Sucks about all of the issues you had. Good to see you stuck with it and are now able to really enjoy the car as I'm sure you thought you would when you bought it.

Thanks for the kind words. My wife wasn't too happy through the whole ordeal, but she was very understanding.

One time my wife said she Didn't like the interior of my car and that it's old and crappy. Mind you, the interior on my car is in VERY good condition, even better than her 2001 Sentra. Let's just say I had to contain myself after that comment.

oh man, the plastic in her Sentra is hideous! What's worse is when we drive someone, you have zero grip on the steering wheel because it's practically the same material. lol I feel like I have to hold on for dear life when I drive her car.

Thats why i don't bother upgrading the Prelude wheels (in addition to attracting thieves)

All you end up doing is goofing up the suspension settings and reducing your gas mileage and acceleration.

I can't imagine too many wives liking that situation. Not only are you lucky to have a car you truly enjoy, but you are have a wife who appreciates that and lets you enjoy. Make sure you take her somewhere nice every now and then.

eh, as long as you get the correct offset to compensate for the difference in size, you may actually get a benefit in acceleration and handling, if the wheels are lighter than the OEMs and allow for the fitment of wider tires. One thing's for sure though, and especially when it comes to older Hondas.... theft goes up exponentially with appearance mods.

Prelude is STOCK on the outside. I keep it clean but I don't baby the exterior, don't want too much attention.

I'd advise the same for the Integra quite emphatically.
