i think the s/c is a great way to bolt on some nice reliable hp & tq. and with all the talk about piggyback ecu's, intercoolers and such, things should continue to get more interesting.

6mt 350z isn't a joke. even in bone stock form they will take out most any n/a cl-s, auto or 6mt. there's only a handful of cars on this forum that would have a chance with one. a stock cl-s wouldn't even be a race.

my car was 190 lbs. heavier than normal, thanks to camera man TypeSDragoon. excuses, excuses..

Is his car the auto S/C? might explain things... or he was shifting early or something?

 

Were we watching the same videos ?? I pulled immediately and steadily on Matt. The run was less than a quarter mile yet i was quite a few car lengths ahead. Did you watch the 6 speed Z video ? Matt pulled on him and led for awhile, and that's a 14.0 second car stock. By the way, the SC is really just starting to stretch it's legs at the speed we shut it down at.

 

well, hammerman didn't shift down to 2nd :o

he "could" have tho, and left matt about a mile behind

i believe hammer said when asked why he didn't go down to second, "there was no need to"
obviously, even in 3rd gear at that speed, the 350z still kicks a CLS's ass

You're not being a jerk, we all know that tit has your turbo, and you have a 12 sec vid with it on your car. So high 12 to low 13 sec car VS hi 13 to low 14 sec car is "take him by a LOT "

i bet everyone would agree on this, unless the 3.5 doesnt have headers or the six speed isnt stock.

Nope, I would not completely agree. Let's look at the numbers presented thus far and also referring to what a car can do everyday; not when ideally prepped to run at the strip.

First, the turbo needs to be on the car to make a difference; but for hypothetical comparisons it is certainly the one with the most potential. So I would also give it a nod to the lead.

Between the auto 3.5L upgrade and an auto SC, the SC makes more torque and more power; this is going by dyno's presented so far.

I would put the auto 3.5 close to a 6-Speed with bolt-ons with maybe a slight nod to the auto 3.5.

So below is my revised list based on power potential:

1. 3.5 Turbo - 6-Speed
2. Turbo - 6-Speed
3. 3.5 SC - 6-Speed
4. 3.5 SC - Auto
5. SC - 6-Speed
6. SC - Auto
7. 3.5 - 6-Speed
8. 3.5 - Auto
9. Bolt-ons - 6-Speed
10. Bolt-ons - Auto
11. Stock - 6-Speed
12. Stock - Auto

Now obviously with varying level of tuning things could change which is why I made reference to power potential.

 

Oh Steve, you forgot about the 6-speeders that are running 6 lbs of boost along with the Intercooler and exhaust work...LOL...

3rd gear Auto CLS I've been the victim of some proper ownage......

 

I was trying to keep the list down to under 100...

But yes, the CL-S6SC with IC and 8 PSI boost would put it near the top but the same could be done to the CL-S6SC3.5. Or add to that the easy ability to turn up the boost on the turbo...
