Video of my '80 Corvette

Thought I'd share a video I took of my vette after I finished installing new stainless steel Hooker sidepipes.

Thanks Guys! I installed a 385 stroker engine with about 500HP, a T56 6 speed from a 94' Trans Am, and Dana 44 3.70 rear. I've done several modifications to it over the years. Here's a picture of underneath. It has one of the best fully adjustable suspensions that I could get for it, and 275/40 ZR17 Nitto NT555 tires.

Looks and sounds awesome!

PS - what lift is that? Is it even a lift? Couldn't quite tell. Been looking at getting a 4 post, so I'm just being nosy

Adjustable suspension is one of the things that car desperately needed....along with an engine! Looks like you've got both covered.

That has to be one of the best looking examples I've seen.

I appreciate the compliments guys! My wife pretty much took over my 04' TL 6 speed after I had it a couple of years, so the vette has been my main focus. Wife hasn't driven the vette...yet. lol

The lift is a Kwiklift. I bought it used off of Craigslist a couple months ago for $700, came with a center bridge, casters, and mini ramps. I don't have enough height for a full size lift, but this one is great! http://www.kwik-lift.com/

Also, I pulled the body from the frame and strengthened the chassis by going over all the welds, adding gussets, and boxing the front, then had it acid dipped, power washed with zinc phosphate, and powdercoated red.

That's some nice work. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, being nit-picky - I'm pretty sure you meant " '80 " not " 80' " in the thread title, since the first would be 1980 with the ' replacing the "19", whereas the one that's in the title leads the reader to believe you are posting up pics of an 80-foot long Corvette.

You know come to think of it, I learned how to drive a manual in a '77 Corvette. I was 15 1/2 and was somewhere around 5'3"...the front of that car might as well have been 80 feet long. There was a WHOLE LOT of car on the front end of the C3.

Yeah, the nose is hard to judge when parking, but you get used to it. The vette has some length to it, but is not very heavy. Mine weighs in at 3180 lbs. with a half tank of gas. I have some other mods to do to get the weight down to around 3000.

That's a great idea for a lift. We built our garage for a lift, but it's not really something I need right now. But this would be great to change the oil on our cars (our trucks are lifted, so I can just crawl under those).

Looks like there are a few in my local area for sale as well. Thanks for the info

The cam in that engine has some sweet lope to it.

I will say it again: There is nothing quite like American V8 muscle.

Nice job on your 'vette!

Thanks! Yeah I love the sound. Here's a walk around video I did a few years ago before the trans, exhaust, and CAI upgrades.

I messed up on the video camera settings on this video and it came out slowed and jumpy. I figured I'd share it anyway so you can here what it sounds like going down the road, since the other videos just show it sitting parked and you don't get to here what it sounds like driving it.

Thanks guys! I took it out for a drive yesterday. It's really running great, lots of power. I think I can get a little bit more out of it though with an intake swap.

Thanks I had it apart for 7 years, buying upgraded parts like this suspension kit http://www.vbandp.com/auto-parts/c2-...category_id=54 and building it from the ground up.
