The unprepared trying to drive on ice.

Thought it was amazing how some of these people decided to keep on driving after they were able to stop. The first guy just kept giving it gas.

Thats near PGE Park here in Portland. Thats from almost 2 years ago though. I remember that day quite well, I was the only person on the road not driving like a jackass. Land Rovers doing 70 mph and then crashing..

Learning how to drive in New England winters FTW!

This vid makes me love SoCal even more.

Sidenote: If there was ever an ice storm in SoCal....it would be the end of all things.

Who you kidding, even if it snows half an inch you guys in SoCal would be doomed.

Vid is a repost but too lazy to search for it. That first guy looks like he got on the gas just so his car would be totaled. Not a bad idea, insurance ftw!

Portland is almost all transplants from somewhere else, me included.

Lots of Chinese, Indians, Californians and such. In other words, people who can't fucking drive

My car is 5 years old and the undercarriage is still black, not rust-colored. Plus we don't get enough snow to need salt.

I reiterate...no salt. It doesn't snow much here. Ice is a very rare occurrence. No salt, no rust. Fuck road salt...

I used to love going out for fun in my 92 Talon back in the day when the snow hit. Viscous coupled AWD + LSD rear diff + snow tires FTW.

Yea I saw that a while back. Fucking amazing. Especially at that first guy slamming into every object possible. Maybe he was TRYING to hit everything so that's why he kept hitting the gas

FTW!

The last time we had weather like that most of the cars that crashed were SUVs or AWD cars. They thought they were invincible, they just forget you need traction first...

That day was shit show for me. I'm glad I went to work really early because that's when I found out that there was a ton of ice under the snow. I've since wised up.

1. that video is old
2. the road was on an incline

some of those people were careful but weight of the cars was enough to overcome the tire's ability to stop the car even with abs..........

LOL at you guys who don't want road salt...... Safety>>>>>>>>>>rust .....and keeping your car clean helps somewhat.

Not an option to go without salt here because of the amount of snow. However, because the price has increased so much the last two years, our local authorities are using far less of it. Even I, the king of all-season tire driving, have considered buying winter tires.
