Unacceptable Ratings by Acura

For a luxury nameplate, Acura sucks major balls. I was checking out the MSN Auto page and I ran into this ranking.

http://autos.msn.com/advice/article....c=msn&GT1=4244

Top Ten Nameplates

Lexus 162 PP100
Buick 187 PP100
Infiniti 189 PP100
Lincoln 194 PP100
Cadillac 196 PP100
Honda 209 PP100
Acura 212 PP100
Toyota 216 PP100
Mercury 224 PP100
Porsche 240 PP100

Shit, Buick, Lincoln, and Cadillac did better than Acura. That is just sad. You would expect Acura to at par with Lexus. One result that I did find weird was Toyota. I can't believe so many companies did better than they did.....

Acura needs to get on the ball.....

Overall it's not bad. Also take a look at this...

Top Ten Corporations

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. 207 PP100
American Honda Motor Co. 210 PP100
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. 240 PP100
General Motors Corporation 262 PP100
BMW of North America 264 PP100
Industry Average 269 PP100
Nissan North America 271 PP100
Ford Motor Company 275 PP100
Subaru of America, Inc. 288 PP100
DaimlerChrysler 302 PP100
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. 327 PP100

AHM as a whole is right up there with Toyota. Both are pretty far off from the rest. Still I would love to see Acura be much higher, atleast better than Infinity preferably right next to Lexus.

Let me tell you something about Buick owners. They are generally so car-ignorant, blind/deaf/disabled that they cant tell you how ANYTHING on their cars work. It is a simple appliance.

You know the type, those who have cars with squeaky belts, underinflated tires, inbalanced wheels and valves that click.

So.. of course Buick does better. Other GM models that have INDENTICAL parts get far worse ratings. Why? Because the owners are young enough and reasonably intelligent to NOTICE the problems!

You can wish all you want, but Acura will never be above Infiniti. They have alot of work to do.

Don't forget that Buick sells a TON of cars to the rental industry. Seems like we get one every time... and they're always that beigy-silver.

I don't know how Infiniti is up there, based on the one that's sitting in my garage right now. But then, I guess most Infiniti dealers aren't as incompetent as mine!!

Infiniti has always had a good reputation for quality I don't like the cars themselves really but I'll concede that they are built well.

(above disclaimer is in case someone accuses me of being "blindly loyal to Honda" )
