Types of hosing

Does anyone know about hosing? The different types that you can use in your car. I know there are different temperature thresholds but I can't find what I want to know online. So can you please explain or point me to a good tutorial. I would like to know how strong a hose has to be to be used as a coolant hose for example. Is there a difference between the strength of a fuel hose and a coolant hose?

Thanks all!

well, in my case I needed a coolant hose and the dude at the store said that a hose which would be used for fuel would work fine. The hose can stand up to the coolant pressure easily but my main concern is that it might not be able to take the coolant heat. Anyone know?
