Turbonetics ST Z ***PICS***

Just a local guy, our car of the month....

Q & A

ChicagoZ.com :What got you hooked to the 350Z that you ended up purchasing it?
dbz33 :I had a 1994 RX7 TT and I loved it. The after selling it I was looking at the new BMW 3 series. Two of my friends at work just got them but the performance was just not there. I wanted the M3 but could not afford it. So I saw the new 350z and fell in love with it. In high school all I wanted was a 300ZX but my fater would not let me get it. So now i am a Z owner.

ChicagoZ.com :What action does your 350Z mostly see? drag, autox, road race, show car, weekend car, and/or daily driver...
dbz33 :I drive my car all the time. Its my daily driver other than winter. It has seen the Drag Strip only once. I would love to try Autox but never have yet.

ChicagoZ.com :Any performance specs? 1/4 mile@mph, whp/wtorq, track times...
dbz33 :The only times I have are 13.0 @ 111MPH with my Vortech kit on a bone stock 350z. I took that off and now have a Turbonetics Single Turbo with 390 RWHP not tuned. I will be tuned soon and will go back to the Drag Strip to run some low 12's.

ChicagoZ.com :What other modifications are you planning on doing to the 350Z, if any? Whether it's performance, handling, appearance, and/or sound system....
dbz33 :The only thing left for my car is the UTEC system, 500cc injectors, and tuning. Next year I hope I can build the motor and run more boost.

why are all these Z and G drivers jumping from S/C to turbo? other than the bigger increase in power? its amazing they would spend all that money...

16k?! And wtf, thats like all retail prices on parts? Sales tax... who does that these days? Buy online niggas!

$70 to install a gauge and another $70 to install the strut bar?

Any guess what this can do in the 1/4?

What makes you think he wanted an M3? He will KILL an M3 with his current mod list. By next year, when he get a built motor, he'll be 550+rwhp SAFELYon a reliable DD...

edit: You're confusing both people. 16k was spent is a TOTALLY different driver. Read carefully, the first post is a ST Turbonetics kit.... the "list" I posted was someone else entirely..... The Blue Z spent only around 9.5 k.... AND he has actually killed some M3's. If you look at the blue Z, and how much he spent...he is still well under a brand new M3....AND FASTER.

so what if he skimped on the sound system?? its still mb quarts, plus you just need a nice bass boost, nothing enough to blow everyone's pants off.

with all that motor work done to it, i wouldnt even think about sound weighing down the rear of my car. heck, if i wanted a really fast car i would rip all the speakers and any other sound components out of my car..

people that go so crazy on upping their speed should have sound system last on their mind. i dont know why having loud thumps that drone through the whole city is such a great thing anyways.

I am guessing this guy will be in the mid 12s. Brian's Z ran high 11s on 430 rwhp on BFGs. Brian is a very good drag racer and lauches the hech out of his car. This guy also doesn't sound like much of a driver if he could only muster 13.0@111 in a Vortech'd Z.
