Transporting a car yourself... tips?
Forgot to mention one tip that really helps me. Drink lots of water during the drive.
What it really does is just forces me to stretch and walk around to find a place to pee. Otherwise if i dont, then even a 4 hour trip will make me ache.
I loooooooooove road trips alone. Its so relaxing to me.

I drive to Toronto all the time from chicago (8-9 hours usually). However, I never drive in the late hours (which is my only concern). Anyways, I have a bunch of hotel numbers and what not, so I'm going to play it by ear and see how it goes. Also keep in mind, I'm getting up @ 4:30am that morning so I am going to be crazy tired. We'll see what happens.. thanks guys for the tips!

that's exactly what I was going to suggest, get all the paperwork done, find a place to sleep/rest... and take off early in the morning. You figure... leave at 6am, be home around 6pm
Oh and watch out for the VA state troopers I hear they are very strict more so than other states. I drove from Maryland to CA and I heard that from numerous people that live in and around VA. No matter what state your in don't give the police any reason to pull you over because the car itself attracts a lot of attention just make sure your going the flow of traffic because on my trip I must have had state troopers follow me 4 separate times in different states but none pulled me over because they had no reason to I think they saw my out of state plate and wanted to make sure it wasn't stolen.
^ I just packed up my insurance cards. Should be interesting since I won't have any plates on the car. LOL. Just a temp sticker from VA DMV (that I place on my window).

When I brought my TSX home from Kansas city, it took about 11 hours with one food stop at subway. It was about 750 miles if I remember correctly. And we were driving 78-80 most of the way.

I did Baltimore when I got my 05 RSX-S. Flew out of Ohare at 6am, got to BWI at 10, left with the car about 11am...it wasn't too bad. Ohio bored the shit out of me but I made it to South Bend just before it got dark and then took the skyway back into downtown and was back home in the northern burbs around midnight stopping only to eat a few times and like twice for gas (and peeing at each stop).
just don't forget to pack your iPod!

why they have no equity in thier house and are pretty much hurting. and if they got multiple cars they may be just thinning the heard, which i have seen with many freinds of my father who owns many motorcycles...people are just trying to be smart about things.....
how ever on the flip side those who have the money will buy these cars and bikes up at a discount hold onto them and 3-5 years from now the values will come back up making a profit....which is somehting they pfather is looking to do.
or it s a nigerian
I sent emails to both of the autotrader listings, checking out the validity of them. I do not believe either of them. The best way to tell if it is real or not is to ask to come and see the vehicle. If it is fake the person will be out of the country and unable to meet up, they will already have a shipping company lined up and say that it will be shipped right away.
He just left a voicemail. Guess at 3am last night in Indiana one of his tires blew out.
He said the car is fine and had the spare put on but then that started to wear out. He hit up tire rack and is on his way home now after spending the night.

OUCH! Hopefully he got home safely today.
Luckily, Tire Rack's main facility is in Ft. Wayne, IN, basically not far off the Turnpike/80. Veeeery convenient.
Can't wait to see the pics.
