Hi guys. I have a 2003 TLs. I bought it used with 43,000miles on it for 19500. I'm basically done with honda. I want a 4 door sedan thats fast, offers navigation, and can pull at least mid 14's. luxury is good too. AWD prefered. stick shift. 1,000 bucks down, 400 bucks a month.

the new G is a tad too expensive. Plus, I don't want all those new model year bugs. My tranny died at 48,000miles.

Saw a Legacy GT at carmax recently for $21k with about 15k miles.

I'd rock that.

Legacy GT limited is just right. very nice luxury inside and i was surprised when i saw one in person. all wheel drive. can do high 13's stock and with a few grand you can get it to the low 13's/high 12's. and the price is deffinitly right on these cars. i'm buying one as soon as i can sell my SUV. check out legacygt.com.....if your interested, alot of info there. navi comes with the specB but it's only manual. and navi on a limited only comes with an auto.

 

you only had the car for 5000 miles before the transmission died? damn...

is it still under warranty? or, you just don't want the tl anymore.

I was considering a 3.2CL/TL Type S because of how cheap you can get them for, but after hearing this i'm scrapping that idea altogether.

Anyways, I hear a lot of good things about the legacy. A lot of mod potential too.

 

the tranny is warrantied till 100K miles,but the options you requested your basic only option is the Legacy Gt which isnt bad at all with great modding possibilities

Were you racing your car that you're so concerned with 1/4 mile times? Sounds like your negligence might have had something to do with it's failure.

 

get an 03 evo and then add navi yourself

 

Umm get a new Tranny under warranty? The 03 Transmission is covered till 100k by Honda/Acura. Go get it fixed and keep the car.

 

Not surprised about the tranny...(went through 2 on my CL-S) I treated that old CL very well...but there is nothing you can do about a poor designed trany. In a way I know how you feel...I got rid of my CL after tranny #2.

You should get it replaced for free under warranty....100k mile warranty from Acura.

here are more details:

-I bought the car used in may for 19,500 w/ 43,000miles
-I added ct ice box, ct headers, ct transmission cooler, ur pulleys and mugen cooling mods.
-Tranny is not actually nuked yet. It just started slipping ocassionally between 2-3, and sometimes between 3-4.
-went to the dealership today, the service was short staffed. The sales guys wanted 17500 for a cls 6spd w/o navi. Offered me 15000 max for my trade in. ('03 TLS w/navi) I still owe 20k even on the tls. They offered me 2500 down +TTL+payoff. what do you guys think of this deal? I'm taking it in tomorrow to get the tranny looked at, regardless.

 

How can you owe $20K on a car that costs 19,500? Do you keep rolling upside down balances into new payments?
If you are, that's no way to get ahead.
You should just keep the TL.

 

Legacy GT chipped will pull 13's, sound stock and is AWD. If you want luxo, then go with the G35 sedan.

 

 

Car price would have been 19500 and the loan amount would have been for slightly more to account for the interest over time, unless the APR on the loan was 0%. Thats what I'm thinking.

Personally, I'd sell the 03 and get an 04 TL (either auto or manual). Tranny problem was fixed for 04, and 04 has a host of upgrades that make it a superb vehicle.

 

i dont understand this "navi" requirement

just get the damn car and buy a pioneer avic n3. way better than a stock navi system

 

get th trans repaired or did acura tell you to go take a hike becuase your car is modded?
