Today was a fun day of deliveries!

Shoofin,
Those are some great prices you showed on the cars you quoted a few posts up.
Do those financing rates you showed on the Audi, BMW, MB apply to Honda? I have been in touch with you 2 or 3 times over the past few months regarding a potential car for me to get into this summer. As far as pricing goes, do you think it is worth it to get a 2011 civic si or wait for the 2012 redesign? What do they go for these days being they are an outgoing model?

redesigned '12 model will not have the same kind of pricing and incentives as the 2011 model. As for financing, Honda has 0.9% for up to 60 months for the Civic, Accord, CR-V, FIT, Insight, Pilot has 0.9% for up to 36 and 1.9% for up to 60, and the Element and Ridgeline has 1.9% for up to 36 mos and 2.9% for up to 60 mos.

Keep in mind, they are approximate numbers until I find an actual car, it might be +/-..
Audi: $38,750
MB: $41,500
Not including shipping to you, but I did request a quote, I'll get back to you on that. Also add tax and dmv/plates to above figures.

Haha, you could buy a nice used E46M for the amount in options on this car.
Truly insane that the sticker price on this car is nearly $30,000 more than the negotiated price on my nicely equipped 2011 135i. (Hello not worth it)

I didn't check to see if the cars exist the way you are equipping them, but based on the configured MSRP's:
Keep in mind, they are approximate numbers until I find an actual car, it might be +/-..
Audi: $38,750
MB: $41,500

If I had $70,000 to spend, there is no way in hell I'd be buying a Z4. Not sure what he was thinking. There's nothing practical about it. Its tiny and you can only fit one other person (which would be a major faux pas for a high schooler), a convertible all-year long in that region isn't ideal, and correct me if I'm wrong, its not remarkable in performance compared to some cars under 70K. I'm sure he loves it though, so congrats to him. He'll enjoy it..

Audi A4 2.0T Sdn 8-speed Automatic q 8K256A 34,500.00
Ibis White T9T9 0.00
Black interior GD 0.00
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:
All-weather floor mats and trunk liner 4PK 200.00
Front License plate holder 6W3 0.00
Audi navigation system (Premium plus) PNK 2,550.00
Premium Plus Model A4 Sedan WPS 3,400.00
DESTINATION CHARGE 875.00
TOTAL MSRP 41,525.00
For you: $38,100
Have to deliver by 3/31 though for me to do these numbers.
Not sure how readily available the A4's are with rear bags. I very rarely see cars with it. The other accessories you want you can get from the parts department (Cargo net, etc..)
As for the trade in, I checked wholesale on it, my numbers are nowhere close to your $11k quote you got from a dealer. Wholesale is thousands less, like $7-$8k'ish. Unlikely I can get anywhere close to $11k.
LMK!

38,100 sounds good....yeah the audi dealership we went to 2-3 months back said 10K + 1.5K since the trade in was a premium car (Audi/Lexus/Acura/MB/BMW)...it was more of a dealership incentive than the company incentive....but that time we were looking at an A6...
And you do finance right ? wish i had 30K odd in my checking

That's because a few months back they had a conquest program for non Audi owners. I wouldn't say that they would be able to apply it towards the trade-in amount, but it would have came off the selling price (after being taxed, if applicable). But the fact that they gave you the impression that your car was worth $1500 more because of the rebate is a pretty clever thing to do...

and the dealer told me this "will give you 10K for the trade and since its a premium car will give you another 1.5K"....so yeah i know if i sell it (trade it) to another dealer i might just get 9-10K, but since trading to an audi, will get 11K...
but yeah if you can PM me you contact number, it will be easier to communicate
Appreciate all the hard work bro....and got my fingers crossed to "babe lets drive to NY and get this baby"....

I did actually get a ballpark, I was told "at least $750" but the person I called is usually more expensive than everyone else....I have another source I can go with, and guesstimating I would say probably somewhere around $500-750. Truth is, in the shipping business, you can find someone cheap, but it would take longer for the transaction to take place. The more you're willing to spend the quicker I can get it shipped. That's what I've noticed when I have to ship cars anywhere around the country with the service that I usually use. Plus the location of where it is going makes a huge difference. For example, it costs anywhere from $500-$650 depending on time of year to ship a car down to south Florida. I just shipped a car down to Ooltewah, TN, its definitely closer than FL, but because it was so off the beaten path of the usual transporter route, it cost me $800. Craziness I tell ya!

Ready for this doozy of a delivery I had on Friday? Long read but worth it
Delivered the Passenger Van above, a GL450, both went just fine...Only issue I usually have doing deliveries on Friday is because of the Sabbath (I'm Jewish and Orthodox = Sabbath Observer), my day is cut short because I have to be done with my day and home for the Sabbath, in this case by 6:54pm. Normally I deliver cars at 10pm if I had to (I will deliver any time a customer is willing to accept a car, and have delivered as late as 1am before ), but Friday my day is over when the Sabbath starts. As a result, I try to avoid any deliveries on Friday, but if it happens, it happens, and I make sure to do it as early as possible before the Sabbath.
I get a phone call from one of my previous customers, last car I got him was a car for his daughter about 18 months ago, a VW Jetta. He traded in a 2000 Sentra that I graciously registered and insured under my company, and gave to a friend of mine that has been having a struggling and difficult time in his life lately. He would stop a bullet for me, and that's why I did it (and continue to help him as much as possible). Anywho, back on topic...
He calls me up and says he has a '98 Olds Cutlass that his other daughter has been driving (when I met this other daughter 18 mos ago I don't think she was driving yet), is in need of tires and he figured what the heck, he may as well get her a new car. Asked me what I can get him with as low a price as possible. I told him if I can find one (very good deals this month and inventory dried up as a result), I can get him a Nissan Sentra SR with convenience package in the mid 1's. I offered him 39 months for $152, and 36 months for $159 (NY Tax included). I suggested 36 months so he stays within the warranty period, he agreed. Conversation went something like this:
Paul: "how fast can you get it?"
Me: "how fast do you need it?"
Paul: "when my daughter gets back from school"
So at this point I'm thinking she's studying away and is probably getting back in the next few days, so...
Me: "when is that?"
Paul: "3 o'clock"
It's 12pm right now..[gulp]
Push comes to shove, if I have to get a car the same day, depending on the car and the dealers I work with, I can make it happen, but it requires everything to happen very smoothly, which doesn't always happen. Like it's such a long shot, the planets have to be aligned for this to happen.
Me: "Umm...Let's see, it's 12 o'clock...It's a long shot, I won't lie...And i'm not sure if I can find the car because they are tough to find because of the crazy deal. If I can find it and get it done, I can do it today but it might not be by 3, maybe a little after."
Paul: "that's fine. See what you can do. And what do we do about my trade-in?"
Me: "I'll make you a deal, We'll do an even exchange, whatever the COD amount is, that's what I'll give you for your car, so just give me the car and I will cover the COD amount for whatever the total upfront costs will be"
Paul: "That's fine - let's do it."
So I call one of my new-ish dealers I started calling as a referral from another friend of mine in the same business as me. This is the first car I will be getting from him, so this is the cherry to be popped with him, so to speak. Turns out he has one car left, in white. I know how much he is selling me the car for, but he asks for a few extra bucks because it was his last car. I said fine.
Me: "So Jeff, are you in the mood to do a spot (delivery)?"
Jeff: "Well, let me see where the car is, send me the app, license and insurance ASAP and i'll see what I can do"
Me: "OK, I'll e-mail you the app now, let me know once it's approved, send me the invoice and i'll get insurance immediately"
I e-mailed the app and worksheet and called him back to make sure he got it. He did and already submitted it and got it approved. Turned out the car had already been prepped, so that saved a ton of time. He sent me the invoice, I got the insurance. Total transaction and all the stuff he needed from me done in about an hour. He put it into billing immediately. Planets are aligned!
I send a new-ish driver I use when I need someone extra to go and pick up the car, while I ran out to pick up the Ford van I had to deliver. I got back to my office, and the Sentra got to my office a few minutes after I got there, and the customer pulled up a minute after that. When I went down to the car it was the first time I was seeing it since it just came and was in such a rush, didn't have the chance to walk around it to make sure everything is good, as well as do my prepping (putting my license plate frames/advertising on it, etc). Turns out he picked up his daughter and told her they were going to change the tires on her car, while he was bringing her to me to surprise her with her new car. She was pretty in shock and very ecstatic.
I take the window sticker out of the car to make a copy of it, while he calls me out and tells me that there's a paint chip on the driver's door. The chip was close to the door edge, and about as big as my pinky nail. It looked pretty bad. My new-ish driver probably didn't walk around the car to make sure everything was good, then again I forgot to tell him to before leaving the dealership, oh well.. I have no idea how it could have happened, but based on the area where it was, is where the factory puts those foam blocks on certain body panels, it looked almost as if the dealer pulled off the foam and a piece of the paint came off with it. There was no damage anywhere around it, so nothing hit it. Could very well be a factory defect, who knows . Then we continue to walk around the car and notice a few other much smaller stone/rock chips on the fender and just ahead of the driver's side mirror, where the A-Pillar meets the fender. My customer was a little bothered by it but he was cool about it. He just kept saying "whatever, it's cool, don't worry about it". I told him that I will take care of it, and he was fine with that. Said to drop it off one day, I'll give him a loaner car and I'll take care of the door and have the other panels touched up, he said no problem.
Then we go inside to sign the paperwork. We start going through everything, and when I get to the lease, I notice that the dealer structured the lease as a 39 month lease when I very clearly sent in my worksheet to him specifying that we were to do a 36 month lease. Even worse, he used my 36 month payment of $159, not the 39 month payment what would have been $152. I told my customer that i'll give him the difference in cash to offset whatever the difference in payment is, he thought about it for a second and said "it's OK, don't worry about it - I know that I rushed you in getting this done today, I appreciate you being able to pull through and getting me the car today, it's cool, don't worry about it". So we finished everything up, I went out to show his daughter how to use the car, paired her bluetooth, set her radio stations for her, and sent them on their way, with me telling him again to please make sure to be in touch with me when he's around again so I can take car of the rock chips on the car, he said no problem. They were as happy as a hog in mud, even though there were a few hiccups.
Not 10 minutes later he calls me up:
Paul: "Eddie, you're not gonna believe what just happened..."
Me: "Oh no, what?!?"
Paul: " We're on the Cross Island heading home, when this huge rock hits the windshield and cracked it! I guess I'll leave it until the crack gets worse and i'll get it fixed"
Me: "What the hell?!? Do you have glass insurance?"
Paul: "I'm not sure, but on my other car you got me I have it"
Me: "So I'm pretty sure you have glass insurance on this car too if you have it set up on your other cars"
Paul: "OK, cool...thanks for your help again, have a good weekend"
Me: "You too! Now you can rest easy, all the bad things happened within the hour of getting the car, now it should be bulletproof throughtout the rest of the lease!"
Paul: "I know right? That should be the worst of it all and everything should be better now, thanks again!"
Talk about an appreciative and very cool customer, huh? Overall I'm pretty annoyed with the dealer and will be calling him to complain about his prep departments ignorance in making sure it was blemish free. It did get me thinking that this is probably why he still had the car, but whatever. Another deal done, another satisfied delivered customer, even though it was bittersweet..
Now I gotta figure out what the hell to do with this '98 Oldsmobile...

That is a good story. I mean, your customer seems pretty cool, as he did ask for the near impossible but you delivered. I would just ask him to talk up his friends, so you get more business out of the deal.
But very cool. I thought it was going to end with her totaling it or something.
