The TL needed new tires...
So I decided to sell it and get the new TSX Fully loaded, 6MT...Its pretty nice
......Just kidding, but I did get this as a rental car since my car is in for service. I was hoping for another TL but what are you gonna do The car has 700 miles on it, so I figure the engine has already been broken in. From a power stand point, this car is a lot faster than I would have originally thought. I wasn't blown away or anything, but for a 2.4L engine, it really picks up and moves around the city. The gearing great as well, the throttle is pretty responsive and it acurately downshifts when needed. I did almost all city driving in a decent amount of traffic and averaged 26mpg....not too shabby I wasn't that light on the throttle either
Interior is pretty nice, could use some aluminum or wood-trim to break away from the grey-ish center console, but everything looks and feels pretty solid. The seats were really comfortable and supportive, and are MUCH better than the previous TSX loaners I used to get. The sound system is A M A Z I N G , and I love the new smaller diameter steering wheel. Which brings up another point...the steering. This is probably the only aspect of the car I didn't like. It might be due to the fact that i'm coming from my TL, but I just didn't feel like the car was connected to the road. Don't get me wrong, it held the on-ramps extremely well but it just didn't feel connected. Another thing I should mention is the turning radius, which is pretty small. I had to make a u-turn in traffic and I was suprised how small it was.
All in all, its a pretty nice car. Its a nice break from my TL which is running a 2" drop, 19" wheels with low profile tires, and a decently loud exhaust system. Its actually relaxing driving a stock car for a change, especially when its not yours. The only thing it really lacks, besides the front end styling, is power. I don't really race but I would like more power. Hopefully a Type-S model comes out in the future with revised front/rear bumpers,bigger/wider wheels, and the RDX drivetrain

More head room for taller people to go along with more power is what that thing needs.

I still think the new TSX is a great car, I was driving behind one yesterday that was black with dark black windows, it looked great. I thought the front looked good too, and from seeing them at the dealership I've found myself quite fond of the car. Hell, I drove a Jetta today that felt faster than my TL, so I'm sure power wise it would be fine too

the new TSX is amazing, lacks power compared to the TL, but it begs to be thrown around. I had one as a loaner a while back, Black on black, 5 speed, and it had 100 miles on it. Lets just leave it at it didn't have the usual break-in...

I was expecting a M3 thread.
but it seems like it really is a good car. Too bad they dont give out 6MT loaners. Can't wait to see a Mugen grill, that + a Type-S model with SH-AWD and a boosted K24 would make the car awesome

Haha, I believed you for a second when you said you dropped the bomb on the new TSX.
Lol.
But yes, everything you said is pretty consistent with what everybody else has been saying including the comment about the now electric steering. I am still disappointed in that. The diesel version coming out needs to bring back the steering of the first gen. Nice little review though.

and on the grill and the wheels. They are horrible. And if you look at the hood long enough, it looks really square, and the lines just don't match up.

trust me guys, the grille looks horrible in these photos, but once you see it in person, you will see it looks much better.

I checked out an '09 TSX in the showroom while my TL was getting service the other day and it certainly looks better in person. While I wasn't too hot on the front corner panels where the headlights are - a bit too flared/bubbled out, the overall design is pretty nice. The interior is much improved from the previous generation - much improved quality materials and design in my opinion. The car seems significantly larger than the previous TSX too but that could just be a design illusion. I know it's not the "end all, be all" measure of quality, but the sound of the door shutting was very crisp & solid. Even better than my TL!

Yes, it looks better...
...but it doesn't look great.
And IMO, yes, color of the car play a role in the grills ick factor. lol

I looked at TSXs a few weeks ago while my car was in for routine service. I like the look and it will sell like hotcakes. When I'm next in for service, I'll ask for a TSX so I can review the driving experience.

More pics...Blackberry photoshoot ftw?
Its a hard car to capture, but it does look better in real life. Much, much, MUCH better. However, i'm sure they will change the front bumper in wheels during a mid cycle refresh. I wish I had my 19's with me so I could test fit them on this car, i'm sure it will transform the entire car.

Yup. And its something that is so easy to get right IMO. A big to whoever does wheel selection over there.

In pictures and in person, I still don't like the car... it just doesn't mesh. The styling is too for me... still can't beat the 1G... everytime I see one on the roads, I'm always doing a double take.

I saw a silver one in traffic yesterday. I have to admit, it looks MUCH better in person. It would certainly be on my shopping list if I was looking for something in that category.
