Tinting In MA

Does anyone know any other places to tint windows other than Sonny's in Saugus.

Also, i wanna go with 10% all around and 50% windshield.....you guys think that would be too much?

That's crazy dark man and you'll definitely be stopped at some point and get ticketed.

There's Eastern Glass Tinting in Charlestown, MA - www.tint-it.com

And there's Tint King in Billerica, MA - www.tint-king.com

20% all around and nothing on the windsheild is probably as dark as you want to go. Much darker and it gets harder to see out at night.

And any tint on the front windshield is just asking for a ticket.

well i have 35% right now, and tan exterior and tan interior which make them even lighter, would 20% make it really hard to see inside the car? i want a really dark shade

20% all around will be pretty hard to see into. All you really see is a shiloute.

Trust me, you don't want it too dark or you'll have to roll down your windows to drive at night.

I live on the Cape and the cops around here are not that touchy about the whole tint thing. Thats why i am getting away with 20% in the back and 35% in the front, but i have black leather interior in my TLS and it makes it look darker than it would on a car with tan interior. I have 20% all around on the S55 but i know that someone is and one of these i will get pulled over for it . The M45 will be coming in soon as well and i am planning to only put 35% all around on it, since the interior is black on it as well. THe thing is that if you get pulled over, you dont have any excuse for the dark tint, and tint on the front windscreen is a big no no, specially in MA. I have seen some cars in NYC with that but i dont think it would be long before they get pulled over for it since NYPD is hunting down cars with dark tint. I got the tint done down here from a place called Ziggies, nice guy and very good results. I paid $500.00 for both the S and the TL. They guarantee their work, if the tint peels off or goes bad they will replace it, no charge to you, goodluck. I know the Cape is a strech just to get a tint job done but i had to recommend these guys.

I agree with everyone else that 10% is too dark and tinting the front is not the bestest of ideas. I would go 20% all around (not the windshield). tint-king did mine three years ago and still looking good. I paid 200 cash and they guarantee their work for life.

Both places I suggested guarantee their work (lifetime) and will fix for no cost. I believe it would be about $220 for the TSX at both places.

Why do you even want the front windshield tinted? I mean, 20% all around is already gangsta!

Well when i saw your car at the meet, and if you still have 20% then i deff wanna go darker becuase i could still see inside the car fairly well, i think im gonna go between 10-15%

Believe me, you'll be happy with 20%. If you go darker, trust the people who have had it before (not me per se, but from what I've read), you have a difficult time seeing other cars at night. You don't want to get in an accident with your baby do ya? It would surely be your fault as well if you did get into one because they could just point the cause to the dark ILLEGAL tint.

well i got 2 choices

1. They strip all the tints off that i have right now for around 300 bucks, and put the new ones on....

2. They put another film of 35% tint over the ones i already have right now for 200

which one is the better choice?

If you do 1, go with 20%

If you do 2, do 50% over the 35%. That'll give you 17.5%. Doing 35% over 35% will be 12.25%. And don't forget, there is a slight tint from the factory on the windows so they will be darker than the percentage of tint on the window.

Meldy, here is a pic of my boy's lude with 20% tint. I personally think 20% is perfect and I wish I had done it.

Also, couldn't you just remove the tint yourself (I honestly do not know how difficult that might be)? which place quoted you 300? I would contact one of the other places to find out if they would even charge you for removing the old tint and if they do ask them if they would do it for 250.

Shops will not remove the tint for free (it still takes awhile to remove the tint and that's labor costs), but you can do it yourself. I believe all it takes is a razor blade and a spray water bottle. Its more time consuming than difficult.

For any of the CLSers that went to Tint King...

- What did they do about the dot matrix stuff at the top of the rear windshield?

- Did they tint over the 3rd brake light?
