Is it legal in Ill to have a tinted windshield?

Sweet car, but I wouldn't tint the windshield even if I could do it legally.

About the tinted windshield being legal, it is not. But it looks nice and i do it as long as people pay. Customers always seem to want it done after looking at my car.

One thing I never understood about tinted Windshields.

If you hit someone, pedestrian, car, property, etc... And the victim notices your tint. I am thinking that they can sue the crap out of you since you tinted your windshield which any court will agree most likely obstructs your view even in some manner. Instant win for the victim.

Also, when I got my rear and side windows tinted 35%, I remember on dark rainy nights it sucks going reverse for a while cause I couldn't see shit. I imagine its similar for front tint.

Just saying.

I feel that once you go darker than 35 on a front windshield it will be unsafe to drive a car tinted like that, some people do it for the privacy, and others do it for the protection it gives from the sun rays while driving.

I'm usually not a fan of Mustangs but that one is damn hot. I like the GT with the California (I think?) package as well.

Do you just do it for looks? If not then a clear style tint will do a better job, but won't look as cool.

That's pretty hot! I'll never understand the point of tinting the windshield though, it's just plain dumb, asking for trouble.. They do it so people can't see who is driving behind them from their rear view mirror, no?

+1. So tired of seeing people say "tintS"
the word "tints" is very common for example "how much will you charge to do the tints on my car?" instead of referring to it as tinted windows etc... i dont think the use of that will ever change.

i personally like the way it looks. i also like how i can drive with the sunlight shinning right at me through the windshield and not having trouble seeing the road or abstructing my veiw by flipping down my visor. at night i dont have a problem seeing through it. the most common shade of tint used on windshields is 50% rarely people go darker, and i will not tint one any darker than 35%. i have been tinting since i was 15. till this day i never had anyone come back to me because their tint was the cause of an accident or enyone getting hurt.

tinted windshields? great idea. all of that $$ you spend on your insurance coverage might as well be pissed down the drain. you will never win a claim...youre better off driving around uninsured and saving a couple bucks if youre going to go ahead and tint the windshield.

Good for you! You know what the plural of tint is.

I guess the term "tints" can be considered slang since not many people use slang the their vocabulary.........

Not another TINTS thread

The car looks great, and I'm another one that is not a huge fan of the Mustang but after seeing this and the one SACHO bought, I'm starting to like it.

I have never been denied a claim or had my tinted windshield even brought up by any of the insurance adjusters that have had to look at my car. It is not that dark to the point that it is unsafe to drive. Like I said before anything darker than 35% on a windshield is crazy. Although I have heard from other window tinters that does happening to people when their window tint is so dark that it is actually a factor when investigating an accident.

Nah, thats not slang, thats sheer idiocy. Now start to think about how someone can begin to differentiate between the two....good luck....

Thats your opinion, it wont change anything. That term will still be used while you drive around in your mid life crisis sports car. Looks like it hit you a little early.
