Timing Belt Problem

I just change the timing belt on my Acura tl 2004, the mark match perfectly with the camshaft pulley TDC marks and the crank shaft mark, the car do not want to start is this is not my first time changing a timing belt, I guess the Acuras are a little more sensitive on that respect.

Can some one have a answer to this problem I will really apreciate the help

Lou

you should have posted in the TL forum. you will get more help there. could you give more descriptions of the problem, what's it sound like etc. if everything is lining up to TDC, that should not be the reason.

1. is it turning over?
2. is the ground cable on the engine mount re connected?
3. did you replace the timing belt on the pulleys in the correct order?
4. Are both the front and rear Cam pulleys correctly lined up?
5. Did you perform a CKP patter clear/learn procedure?

If you're confident the timing belt replacement was performed correctly, you may want to consider the crankshaft position sensor, or CPS. Perhaps it was pinched or inadvertently disconnected.

It could be something unrelated to the belt-ignition wire not hooked back up or somesuch.

Are you sure that it was TDC on the crank and the front cams were at tehir prospective marks before you took the belt off? If so did you by chance unplug or pinch the Crankshaft Position Sensor? If that were unplugged or damaged it wouldnt start. Does the car crank but just not fire? do you hear it hiccup at all?

AFAIK you need an HDS to perform this, and only the dealer has those.

The baby ran on the first crank, real smooth. I just have a question for any one who can help, the car is running a little high on the rpm's.The timing is off. Is there any way to adjust the RPM's?
