Thoughts on Ducati 749?
So, the itch for two wheel motoring has hit again and it looks like this time I will actually buy. Anyways, I absolutley love Ducati's. I have lusted over them ever since I saw the first 748 at Ducati Austin. I know that maintenance is a littel higher than your average Honda etc, but has any of y'all owned one?? Any comments??

Anyways, I am going to look at anyways. Heck, it is cheaper and more powerfull. We will see.

I can tell you from experience that the new 749 is well worth purchasing over a 748. I personally think the 748 was a better looking bike, but they've vastly improved things between the two. Having driven both extensively, the 749 is a much better performer (straight line performance isn't very different, but in the twisties, oooohhhhh boy). I just sold my R1 and am now looking at a turbo'd Hayabusa to drag with.

Ha, I would love to get just a stock busa, but I would definetley kill myself on that one. Plus, it is a damn bus, the thing is huge!! I am looking for something I can throw around in the twisties!

Blackbird baby..
I agree w/the too much HP. I looked at the yamaha and it was simply too much bike for me. I settled on a '98 VFR800, which is still a lot of bike, but should be fairly manageable still.
