For those of you with NEWER BMW

I got a question. My friend got an 07 328 4 door. She got the automatic a/c system, and I have noticed that the 2 a/c vents on the center of the dash on top center blow air too. And with the humidity here in Miami, you get a long fog circle with line running accross the windshield. Do your cars do this or something is wrong with those 2 vents.

Do they always blow air if you have it set up to blow air directly to your face?

Sorry if I am not explaining myself correctly.

tell her to open the iDrive vehicle settings, and re-adjust the airflow to those vents so more comes out the floor instead. Or just leave it and close those vents. I have never had this problem so it seems kinda weird this is happening. If the AC is on, it acts as a dehumidifier and sucks the moisture outta the air.

Never noticed.

Maybe put on some fog-x on her windshield?

That is wierd. Its not sucking, its blowing air. She does not have iDrive but the settings are set at 65, and air direction to blow through the front vents. not floor nor defrost.

But these 2 vents on center of dash on top (not the ones aLLL the way against wiendshield) blow air too. Straight up right under rear view mirrow there is a 3 inch wide and 5-6 inches long fog mark.

I have the same vents in my MINI. When set on front vents, the top dash vents (not the defrost vents) will function as well....it allows air to get to the rear of the cabin. I've never had the fog on the windshield problem....perhaps she should clean her interior side of the windshield.

I've never really noticed if they blow air when the A/C is on. I can say I've never had any problems with the windshiled fogging up, and it can get pretty humid here in the summer time. I'll check tonight, but like Chief said, the owners manual is the best way to go.

The 335 have slightly different buttons vs a dial/buttons in the 328. The owners manual is the best bet. Just ask your friend to look in the climate section.

our touareg does that, except it looks like a pair of balls in the middle of the windshield we either just close the vents, point them down, or deal with it

On the left next to the driver temp nob. There are 3 buttons. one with arrows pointing up, center, and down. Make sure the light is only on the center one.

It is on the center one. The only way these 2 vents stop blow air is if I chose down. lol.

And or for the one who said close it, these vents can not be closed. they are positioned permenantly. (sp)-
