Test drove the new TL

very quiet engine, even into vtec.... i think it may be even TOO quiet.

i loved the details to the interior. very well done indeed. leather seems softer than my CLs. rear seat is comfy. trunk is smaller than the CLs.

the engine bay is like all plastic covers.

i was able to break the tail end loose in the twisties. my lowered CL handles a bit better. the tires are nice and sticky unlike the shitty mxm's. hard to make them scream.

overall, i was very pleased with the car. tuned the xm to channel 47 (ethel) during the test drive. salesman told me to slow down a couple of times, lol. i took it up to 90, yet with the engine being so damn quite i hardly noticed how fast it got up there.

Looked at one today with a friend who is interested. The TL looks better in person than it does in photos, which makes it look like a big TSX. In the flesh, I did not get that feeling at all. The interior at the car's price point was a knockout. A little later we went to Nissan to look at the Maxima (had the Elite package) and stickered for about $1k more than the TL. Anyone that chooses the new Maxima over the new TL must be out of their mind.

The leather quality was definitely better than the previous CL and TL.

Don't know how it drives, but it has the right looks (aggressive). I can actually picture someone under 30 driving one without looking like they took out one of their parent's rides.

Yup, we looked at the blue one in the showroom (silver one was a special order)......nobody wanted to help you?

Let me know if you end up going again, I'll put you in touch with Greg and he'll treat you very well (trust me, whether you are looking to buy a car or not).

Smithtown Acura was an awesome experience for me...my ride was waiting right in front of the front door the day i signed the papers

i made the 45 minute trek to Smithtown Acura b/c not only were they professional over the phone, they even agreed to my proposed deal on the phone no problem whatsoever...if i were to purchase another Acura, i would mosdef go back and see what deal i could get

I also bought my car at Smithtown Acura, from Tommy Van.

Can't say my car was waiting at the front door. It was more like the side door.

Anyway, never had a problem with their service department either. Very nice and professional.

Not to hijack the thread but I got my car from Smithtown too. Even though it was further then two other dealerships they were great over there and Rick Schaeffer was one of the nicest salesman i ever delt with.

I think Scooter means it was waiting at that little driveway type ramp to the right of the front door.
